Rita jeff '84 Ben saves 35 in oilers 2-1 win at MSG. Sounds like whatever "stinger" Ben got on Saturday wasn't serious. I was catching up on my podcasts and listening to NPR's "Only a Game" (2/1 episode) and Ben got a mention for his 59 save game. He definitely has gotten more than his 15 minutes of fame from that game. Impressive reporting. In this article about Scby jeff '84 - Hockey

ugarte Bill Lazor is apparently doing well as an NFL coach and may have an OC job soon. There are other teams sniffing around I've been told. Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 10 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82 Josh '99 So I guess Harvard and Yale aren't selling out MSG? In other news: the sun came up. I was surprised at the original ($31) price. I assumed the CU-BU game ($72 for section 200, I think) was because the cost of the venue was so high, but perhaps not...by jeff '84 - Hockey

Catching up on Sports Illustrated and a few CU sports related tidbits. (Ok only one is CU football alumni, and one is hockey related, but anyway....) sah67 jeff '84 Ben gets back in after Jones started five straight, but loses 3-1 to Hawks (37 saves) Sunday night. Good glove save on Patrick Kane: But Jones was back in net last night and shut out the Oilers in a 3-0 LA win. Will be real interesting to see who is the odd man out when Quick gets back soon.by jeff '84 - Hockey

Weder margolism Hopefully the coach will put him in another few games. Been Jones the last two starts. I read that the Kings coach wasn't happy with some of the things Ben was doing. (Like only losing one game, multiple shutouts, leading NHL in key statistics, even getting an assist on a goal.) Come one Ben, step it up! Hard to tell with Darryl Sutter, but it's looking like Jones will startby jeff '84 - Hockey

billhoward jeff '84 Not sure what Sutter doesn't like about Scrivens. Even during the run, he wasn't overly complimentary. Maybe Sutter checked this forum from Scrivens' Cornell days (Underhill / Leneveu / Scrivens / Iles is not the answer). Maybe it was the embarrassment of seeing your goalie trip (twice) behind the net and give up the puck for a soft shorthanded goal by Calgary. Scrivens carrby jeff '84 - Hockey

billhoward Good that softies Canisius and Siena are gone. Bucknell would have been a good short-bus-ride opponent to retain. Too bad there's not room for Army, a better nearby opponent than most other non-league competitors. Hofstra is good if you want to wave the Cornell recruiting flag on Long Island, giving us two LI games including the Princeton game in Bethpage (Princeton hosts this year) coby jeff '84 - Other Sports
