Swampy jkahn Former Cornell football coach Jim Knowles is getting a lot of credit for Oklahoma State's good season. Is he just another in the long line of former Cornell coaches who underachieved in Ithaca but went on to do bigger and better things elsewhere? Re: Red Hot game thread and watch - 2 years ago
BMac Not a typo! It's really every other year as Red Hot Hockey, and on the intervening year it's called something else. Do you mean semi-annual vs. bi-annual? If so, I agree! It should be bi-annual! The “off” years are called the “Frozen Apple” IIRC.by jeff '84 - Hockey

blackwidow An article like this hurts me deeply Yes, but the one right below it should make you happy: Tyler Wishart is Westchester/Putnam Player of the Year. “In just nine games this season, the forward had 22 goals and 11 assists to help lead John Jay to the Putnam/Northern Westchester championship in a season altered by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a fitting way to go out for a plby jeff '84 - Hockey

Swampy scoop85 Analysis on Barron’s progress in Hartford Cool. Great to see the press being so generous. A crucial Rangers experiment is just getting started ....Promising to further complicate the picture, the Rangers also have four recalls remaining. At least one more, if not all, will probably be used within the remaining eight games after Friday’s matchup with the Flyers. Theby jeff '84 - Hockey

underskill ugarte why would they rank the ivy teams? is there any chance that they will play? The admin already destroyed the hockey program for at least 5 years so doubt they’ll do any different for lacrosse. nmcorm83 I'm guessing Morgan Barron is not going to play opening night, but scroll down to see the Ranger coach's take on him: He didn’t make the active roster, but was assigned to the NYR taxi squad, rather than sent to Hartford (AHL).by jeff '84 - Hockey

Trotsky George64 An interview with Mike.Good work by Mike not just giving rote answers. He considers what he is saying. Professional throughout and a good balance between facts and a feel for how difficult this has been for his players and their families. Well done by both interviewer and subject. RichH BMac And for the third time ever, we end the season on a win. (I thought we needed a new thread?) My freshmen year, 1993, we missed the ECAC playoffs and beat Dartmouth at home for our last game. And then there must have been some years where an ECAC consolation game win was our last game. 2008 for example, beat Colgate in Consy.by jeff '84 - Hockey

CU2007 adamw We've covered all of this pretty extensively. Zero news in there. Of course, the NYT is catering to an audience that doesn't really follow it. ... If Illinois adds any time soon, I'll be surprised. There may be an announcement of a team or so soon - but it won't be a major one.
