Re: Alumni in the Pros - October 2010 - 13 years ago
According to yesterday's Daily News, "DiPietro, Tavares, Moulson and rookie Nino Niederreiter received sustained ovations during player introductions" before season opener.by jeff '84 - Hockey

Josh '99 jeff '84 Would Shafer allow it?More importantly, would Schafer allow it? D'oh! Can't believe I did that!by jeff '84 - Hockey
Re: Moulson - 13 years ago
ebilmes Matt Moulson tours the NHL offices and meets Gary. Good stuff, thanks. Meets Bettman -- "ah a fellow alum." Gary introduces him to a guy who went to Dartmouth.... "ah, I hate Dartmouth!"by jeff '84 - Hockey

Re: UHN Pregame Thread (RIT and Denver too) - 14 years ago
adamw I can't even believe this conversation exists. Every other ECAC team would kill for Cornell's success, as would about 30 other NCAA teams. It's not the '60s .... be happy with what you have. And when you call Cornell "just a bunch of of big, slow guys" then it shows you really just aren't paying attention. Schafer squeezes every ounce out of the program. Re: ESPNU now on Cablevision - 14 years ago
Greenberg '97 I thought this was worth its own thread, for those who are caught in Cablevision's grasp and can't make it to Albany (or any other regional for that matter). 794 is now ESPNU-HD, 144 is standard. Already being discussed in the TV thread, above. Holy Cow!! Thanks!by jeff '84 - Hockey

Al DeFlorio jeff '84 From the post game press conference: (Could you describe the moment afterwards going into the crowd and being with your family? I don't know who the guy was that you hugged, I assume he was the athletic director at Cornell?) “Yeah, that's Andy Noel, who stood by our program for the first seven, eight years when we really didn't do much (tearing up) and had great belieby jeff '84 - Other Sports
Re: Odds that Donahue stays? - 14 years ago
Jim Hyla From the NY Times article quoted on another thread:“What Steve has already done at Cornell is phenomenal,” Noel said. “I like to focus on what else could be done.” Some on eLynah think poorly of Noel, as some of you know I've had my run ins with him, but he has done a fantastic job of picking coaches, and I'm sure he's going to do whatever he can to keep Donahue here. Re: 2010 NCAA Tournament selections - 14 years ago
cth95 sah67 And a rematch with UHN it is. 3rd time's a charm? Barry Melrose is speaking very highly of us right now. Says contrary to popular belief Cornell really can skate. He likes us in the bracket. He also corrected the other commentator who thought Chevrie is the best goalie in the nation. Barry likes Scrivens and put up Scrivens' stats to back himself up. ....and picks Scrivensby jeff '84 - Hockey
Re: Cornell NCAA Basketball - 14 years ago
semsox Jim Hyla OK I got tired of "selection show" and felt this is a good way to get on to the NCAAs. As reported in the Sun:Senior tri-captain/center Jeff Foote left many reporters scratching their heads following today’s player press conference. When asked about how the team balances basketball with the academic rigors of Cornell, Foote responded by talking about yesterday’s busby jeff '84 - Other Sports

"Best Case/Worst Case" from Pat Forde of ESPN: Temple (5) Best Case: Saddled with an undeserved No. 5 seed, the 29-win Owls play like the 2/3-seed they should have been. Fran Dunphy shows why he should get more love for his sideline work. The balanced team plays unrelenting defense, and runs poised offense to beat Cornell and Wisconsin. phillysportsfan Wouldnt be surprised to see Seton Hall fire their coach after tonight blown out in the first round of the NIT, you know its gotten bad when the students start chanting We Hate Bobby! and one section yells Fire and then points to the other section to yell Bobby Done.by jeff '84 - Other Sports

jeffdav_CU91 I checked DirecTV - it appears in my area (DC) it's blacked out unfortunately. I have the Sports Pack too. Anyone know whether it's only available in NY via DirecTV? On Cablevision (HD 718).... I think the non HD channel is 60.....by jeff '84 - Hockey
Re: CU & ECAC Tourney on TV - 14 years ago
Thanks! cbuckser Jim Hyla jputterman24 Zap2It.com has the Cornell @ Colgate game listed as airing on SNY live and again the next day at 2pm. SNY's site just lists "college hockey" so Zap2It is probably right. They do pick up TW sometimes, so probably and I'll add it. Thanks. Sweet. The game is listed on the DirecTV and TiVo guides, too. I just set it up to record.by jeff '84 - Hockey
