Re: Albany tickets in the Cornell section - 18 years ago
jmh30KeithKOf course, there are some jerks who insist on sitting in the seat printed on their ticket even when they are surrounded by dozens of people who want to stand and there is a perfectly comparable sitting/unobstructed seat close by. But unless you can get the ushers on your side, you're usually stuck capitulating to these people. Those people often cheered for Vermont, so perhaps we'll seby Craine - Hockey
Re: Post-game beer on Friday and Saturday - 18 years ago
DeltaOne81If Schafer says something else this year (title or not), I don't think much we decide on here will make a difference - Yup, that's why, especially for Saturday, I'm just gonna head out whereever the team is, and that's not up to any of us... If the team is heading to Jillian's, that's where I'm drinkin'!!!!by Craine - Hockey
Re: Post-game beer on Friday and Saturday - 18 years ago
Man, I miss Mudpuddles up in Placid... I remember one year, they let everybody in, but if you were underage they would take your ID and give you a bracelet... Of course, it was easy enough to just go into a bathroom, yank off the bracelet, and go back for your license the next day, but hey, who's complainin'???by Craine - Hockey
Re: Albany roll call!! - 18 years ago
jmh30I don't really like hockey, I'm not sure if I'm gonna go. Well, in THAT case, I have an extra set of tickets if anybody wants 'em!!!!by Craine - Hockey
Re: Post-game beer on Friday and Saturday - 18 years ago
Same way Dino's used to operate, no??? Restaurant during the day, bar at night... Regardless, I would think that, at least for Saturday night, I'm gonna go drinkin' wherever the team is, and if that's Jillian's, cool.. If not, I'll follow 'em to wherever they're headed... I certainly don't remember any issues there in '03, and unfortunately wasn't able to make Albany last year, so don't reby Craine - Hockey

Re: NCAA Tix - 22 years ago
Okay... I'll throw in my $0.02 here... I just got off the phone with the Box Office in Worcester... From what they told me, the Cornell Sections are 225/226... However, they can't sell tickets over the phone, so you have to either go to the box office or use ticketmaster... Now, with ticketmaster online, I do not believe there is a way to specifiy what section you are in... So, I called the tickby Craine - Hockey
Re: Hahvahd vs. Maine - 22 years ago
Fair enough... As we proved on Saturday night, any team can beat/lose to any other team on any given night... UNH is certainly beatable, as are we... I just got my tix. for the weekend, so I'm now pretty psyched up and hoping we have lots of success in Worcester, then on to the Frozen Four...by Craine - Hockey
Re: Hahvahd vs. Maine - 22 years ago
I agree that Cornell should be capable of beating a team like UNH, but the logic just doesn't work there... Yes, RPI beat UNH, but that means nothing... As someone on USCHO noted, using that same logic, UNH beat Dartmouth and Dartmouth beat Cornell twice... I'm really looking forward to Sat/Sun, but just hope we don't overlook QC...by Craine - Hockey
Re: End-of-R.S. Stats - 22 years ago
Here's one I found interesting... Winning Percentage: #1 - Mercyhurst - 0.865 - MAAC #2 - Wayne State - 0.825 - CHA #3 - Cornell - .818 - ECAC #4 - UNH - 0.771 - Hockey East #5 - Denver - .0768 - WCHA #6 - Michigan - 0.750 - CCHA So, looking at the winners of the 6 conferences, Cornell had the 3rd best winning percentage in the country, and, at the risk of sounding politically incorrect here,by Craine - Hockey

Perhaps even more impressive is her on the cover of this weeks' Sports Illustrated...by Craine - Hockey
Re: CHAMPIONS! - 22 years ago
I may be wrong on #2... I know that before the Final Five, and the PIG, the #1 team got to choose which of the Friday games they wanted... But, now that I'm looking at the ECAC home page, it appears I was incorrect on that point, so I apologize... So, it appears that the # 1 seed actually does have less rest on Saturday (which is more fair overall, since it gives the PIG winner a bit more timeby Craine - Hockey
Re: CHAMPIONS! - 22 years ago
I think there are 3 distinct advantages to being #1: 1) We get to play on Friday afternoon against a team who had to play the night before - It doesn't matter who it is that comes out of the PIG, they're going to be a tired team, and that will give us an advantage... I can't think of any team that would PREFER playing Friday afternoon after playing Thursday night as opposed to playing Friday afby Craine - Hockey
Re: cornell's olympic showing (pat-pat) - 22 years ago
Something tells me she doesn't play hockey... She also made an amusing comment last night, when talking about her brother(s)... It was something to the effect of "They don't know anything about skating"... Now, I know she was referring to figure skating, but I thought it amusing that she claimed her hockey-playing brother doesn't know anything about skating...by Craine - Hockey
Re: choices - 22 years ago
Of course all of here wants Cornell to win both the ECAC Championship and the NCAA Championship... There's no reason to even pose that as a question, as nobody on this board (except maybe Rich S) wouldn't want that. The point of this was purely hypothetical... IF we had to choose, which would you choose?by Craine - Hockey
Re: If you could choose... - 22 years ago
Actually, I think the analogy should be "Do you want to own a Yugo or test drive a Porsche?" That said, I'll take the national respect that goes with making the NCAA Frozen Four (although I would love another night at Mudpuddles!!!)by Craine - Hockey
Polls - 22 years ago
With our 4 point weekend, and Maine losing twice, is it realistic to think we'll jump up another notch in both the USCHO and USA Today polls??? They had a bit of a lead on us (especially on the USCHO poll), but I can't see that holding up after this weekend... Even better, IF Colorado College loses tonight (giving them 1 point this weekend against unrated Wisconsin), could we dare hope to moveby Craine - Hockey
Re: Ivy Title - 22 years ago
A win tonight does not seal it for us... IF we win tonight, we'd have 13 points with one game (Dartmouth) to go... Dartmouth has 9 points, but they get to play us, along with Princeton and Yale... So, they could end up with 15 points... Right now, the standing are (based on Points Per Game): Cornell - 1.375 (11 Points in 8 Games) Dartmouth - 1.2857 (9 Points in 7 Games) Harvard - 1.125 (8by Craine - Hockey

Re: a reply - 22 years ago
Mike, It's halftime, and rather than watch U2, I thought I'd respond to your latest post... First off, no offense, but screw you man... Most of the people on this board who aren't at every game are alums who live hours away, and still manage to find time to listen in on the weekends, and when possible, drive (or fly) for hours to get to Ithaca to catch a couple of games... To accuse us on not bby Craine - Hockey
