RobbBrush? How about: Sweep Rinse Repeat Too much of a stretch? Their sieve might get confused if we're chanting "sweep" well after he's done with the crease.by Ack - Hockey
Re: 2006 Pairwise Comparisons Projections: the Final Stretch! - 18 years ago
To bring this thread to life, this puts Cornell as the 3rd overall seed now: (there are a few scenarios that accomplish this, but I think it's impossible to bring Minnesota or Wisconsin down from 1 and 2) 33/22/11 CCHA Semifinal #2: Michigan defeats Michigan State. CCHA Semifinal #1: Miami defeats Northern Michigan. CCHA Championship game: Michigan defeats Miami. CCHA Consolation gby Ack - Hockey
Re: Thread for people who need rides to/from Albany (to/from Ithaca/NYC/Boston/wherever) - 18 years ago
There might be 1 or 2 of us looking for a way to NYC Sunday morning. Can you email me (mda29) as to what your plans are?by Ack - Hockey

Sunnyvale's got big antennas, surely they could pick up some CSTV this weekend....by Ack - Hockey

RichHLarry72 Grand Forks 931nm - For comparison, Orlando is only 876nm Green Bay 521nm Worcester 204nm Albany 118nm All distances are in nautical miles and to/from the airport. Dang. This optics jock thought those were nanometers. The Quantum Regionals! So we've got the UND Fighting Infrareds (NCAA can't get too mad at that, can they?), Green Bay is about right, and thatby Ack - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. Clarkson, game 1 postgame - 18 years ago
Jim HylaAckKP '06jtwcornell91action jacksonEither way, our fans were out of line throwing crap on the ice...it's a bad habit that has to stop. We don't want to be that kind of crowd. Hear, hear. That shit has got to stop. Did anyone get tossed from the rink for throwing stuff? ... 'cause they should have. What I didn't see get thrown onto the ice was Jim's candy, but apparently bottlesby Ack - Hockey

Not switching keeps your bench near your defensive zone indefinitely.by Ack - Hockey

Re: Link for Sunday's SLU-Brown game - 18 years ago
And the others I'm sure were "just to the side of the post."by Ack - Hockey
Re: Link for Sunday's SLU-Brown game - 18 years ago
Oh it's real. Useless announcers though, Brown goals are merely footnotes to plays. We figure out they score a couple minutes after they actually do.by Ack - Hockey
Re: Cheering for tonight - 18 years ago
Maybe we should put all updates on this thread instead of PWR and others.by Ack - Hockey
Re: Cheering for tonight - 18 years ago
TurkeyboneIf you're assuming or hoping we make it, then the better our ranking, um, hopefully, we don't get sent to a place beyond driving distance of the faithful. You mean like, Hawaii? H1, H2, and H3 are pretty scenic interstates though.by Ack - Hockey
Re: Out of Town Scores: Game 2 - 18 years ago
jtwcornell91Ackis "press 1 for more options" not good enough for ya? Better than the computer voice-recognition program that pretends to be talking to you. "Did you say, 'Syracuse?'"by Ack - Hockey

Ken '70 The delta as to the absolute effect of an incremental win or loss is greater as you get closer to .5000, from either direction. The greatest single gain, or loss, a team can experience is at it moves from .5000. Therefore the further you are from .5000 the greater the effect of your next opponent's winning % on your RPI relative to the gain/loss you get from winning/losing the game.by Ack - Hockey

Hate to say it, but even at a lower seed, we could be given to the Albany regional provided we aren't required to be screwed over.by Ack - Hockey

Harvard's got 2 chances in 2 regionals right now. Little oops from the bracketologist.by Ack - Hockey
Re: Lynah Censorship? - 18 years ago
KillerI figured that might happen. At Harvard last November, they took away our "Harvard Sucks" sign, even though I saw Dartmouth fans displaying one about 6 feet wide when they were there for their game. How about "S*CKS"? "You just Sock"by Ack - Hockey
Re: OT: speed skating - 18 years ago
If an object (ski/skate) is sliding across a uniform surface (snow/ice), the force due to friction is going to be the same regardless of the shape/size of the material. However, the force is distributed over a wider contact area. Think of skating flat-footed (where all the metal is touching the ice) vs. skating on your toes (just a point of metal is touching the ice). Same force applied on thby Ack - Hockey
