Re: Recruits 2018 (and beyond) - 6 years ago

Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
These are the times, I wish Cornell had a player who can score 20 goals in a season. Someone like Matt Moulson who can come through in the playoffs. Having depth is great and all, but you usually need that one playmaker who helps pull you through and make the special plays.by redliner - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
The tying goal from BU 36 seconds after Cornell scored was a killer. It killed any momentum.by redliner - Hockey
Re: Bracketology Starts - 6 years ago
Here's Jayson Moy from USCHO's bracket Midwest Regional (Allentown): 14 Princeton vs. 2 Notre Dame 11 Penn State vs. 6 Minnesota State East Regional (Bridgeport): 15 Michigan Tech vs. 3 Cornell 12 Minnesota Duluth vs. 7 Providence West Regional (Sioux Falls): 16 Air Force vs. 1 St. Cloud State 9 Northeastern vs. 8 Michigan Northeast Regional (Worcester): 13 Boston University vsby redliner - Hockey
Re: Bracketology Starts - 6 years ago
upprdeck so a nd win makes us a 3 and go to CT, an osu win makes us a 4 and go to MA.. seems like playing BU in CT would be just a small bit better I thought Cornell plays Michigan Tech if Notre Dame wins?by redliner - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac QF - 6 years ago
According to the Quinnipiac Chronicle, Pecknold refused to speak to the media after the game. He also didn't let his players talk.by redliner - Hockey
Re: Opponents News 2: Hockey's the Reason for the Season - 6 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82 St. Cloud beats Denver 4-2 and Bemidji ties Mankato. We stay in 3rd by 0.003 over Mankato with Denver 5th. Cornell is fortunate that Denver and Notre Dame lost. Mankato tie also gave Cornell a little breathing room. All things considered, the lost to Union wasn't too bad.by redliner - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Union, 2/24/18 - 6 years ago
I hope this loss doesn't haunt us come ncaa tournament time. Our penalty kill completely fell apart.by redliner - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Union, 2/24/18 - 6 years ago
I thinks it's time to pull Stewart.by redliner - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Union, 2/24/18 - 6 years ago
Yep, it's one of those games. Union is 3/3 on the power play. Only way to stop them is not to commit any penalties.by redliner - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Union, 2/24/18 - 6 years ago
I hope Cornell doesn't commit another penalty because Union power play seems unstoppable.by redliner - Hockey

Stewart in net. Malott and Cairns return to the Cornell lineup; Donaldson and Smith will sit this one out. Hayden Stewart makes his first start since Jan. 5. pic.twitter.com/B9e6HfNHvu— Brandon Thomas (@BT_unassisted) February 24, 2018by redliner - Hockey
Re: So Much Winning - 6 years ago
Trotsky Al DeFlorio Scersk '97This year has been great. If we could only "disappear" Union, we'd also be back to league normality. Can we disappear Quinnipiac instead? Why not both? Niagara/RIT are a natural rivalry. Nia/RIT Cor/Cgt Clk/SLU RPI/Prn Yal/Brn Drt/Hvd I know this is a recency bias, but it would suck to lose a national champion from our conference. Anyone know what happened to Coach Schafer? RPI announcers said that he had to head to the locker room.by redliner - Hockey
Re: Yale at Cornell 2/17 - 6 years ago
Cornell's penalty kill has been struggling for a couple games now. Doesn't Yale have the worst power play in the country? Yale has two power play goals so far...by redliner - Hockey
Re: "O Canada" Revised - 6 years ago
Roy 82 Jeff Hopkins '82 I for one will continue to sing the current lyrics. Political correctness be damned! Why? I gladly welcome the more inclusive lyrics since it makes many people feel better and does no harm to me. I think he was being sarcastic. Though, you can never quite tell on the internet...by redliner - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Niagara @ Cornell 11/21/17 - 6 years ago
BearLover Trotsky BearLoverExhilarating comeback and being 8-1 rules, but those're about the only positives you can draw from this game.Oh, I'll draw a few more. 4. Speed kills. This is our fastest squad since the mid 80s. The team is faster, but is it fast enough? Still has trouble with aggressive forechecks, still fails to establish its own forecheck, still struggles to gain the zone (by redliner - Hockey
Re: Cornell Women's Hockey - 15 years ago
speaking of Cornell women's hockey and recruiting If you aren’t familiar with Brigette Lacquette, you should be. Scouts are raving about this 16-year-old Manitoban. Lacquette is astonishing them by thoroughly outplaying male opponents in the Western Manitoba AA Midget Hockey League. She is her league’s top talent. She was the youngest player at the recent World Under-18 women’s hockey chby redliner - Other Sports
Re: ECAC Suspends Erik Burgdoerfer for Two Games - 15 years ago
RobbDpperk29ugarteTrotskyKeithKMaybe so. But the kid has a history of dangerous hits. If it's not malicious then he simply gets so frustrated that he stops caring. I'm not optimistic that another suspension will be enough to make him start thinking out there but the league has to penalize him severely for it.Hey, granted. Context matters. And the context here includes "down 3-0 with one sby redliner - Hockey

sah67http://www.uscho.com/rankings/ We move up to #5 with two first-place votes, and we now have 4 ECAC teams ranked nationally, with Yale cracking the list at #19, Princeton sliding to #10, and Dartmouth falling to #18.
