Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: At Large Bid to NCAAs? - 22 years ago
from what I can gather from all the discussion (all the stats and numbers make my mind a little ) the only sure way to NCAA tourney is to win the ECAC tourny. after that, there's still a chance if we lose the championship game. then, if we lose the semifinal game or if we lose this weekend, our season is overby judy - Hockey
Re: Athletic Department Rummage Sale - 22 years ago
Does anyone know about how much one of these go for? (And about how many of them are there usually?)by judy - Hockey
Re: ECAC first round - 22 years ago
every night, I think to myself, "Please Cornell, make it to LP. Don't pull a Clarkson!" I've been thinking this since Saturday. The time between Saturday night 10:30pm or so and Friday night 7pm is just way too long!by judy - Hockey
Re: Fulton's Folly - 22 years ago
everytime i read murley's quote, I can't help but think, "yeah sure, RPI could definitely beat Cornell they way we played that night....but that really wasn't the best that we could play" I wonder if they realize that.by judy - Hockey
Re: Sunday game time. - 22 years ago
well, i'm actually thinking about southwest bwi/albany and hitching a ride with melissa this weekend. it leaves the departure time a little more flexible. but what airline was it that you managed to get the $87.by judy - Hockey
Re: Sunday game time. - 22 years ago
Yeah, I know they probably want to give the guys a rest...and that it would be better for the team and them being rested...but again, here's hoping we can sweep.by judy - Hockey
Re: The Quints (and we ain't talkin' Dionne here) - 22 years ago
Is there anyone we can talk to about moving the game to 3pm? It'd be better for everybody traveling... Else, is there anyone between DC and Ithaca who reads these boards who may want to carpool cuz I have problems driving late at nights (get sleepy). I really really hope we sweep...by judy - Hockey
Re: Underhill - 22 years ago
undy was standing and watching the game in the little walkway between the locker room and the ice tonight so at least he can walkby judy - Hockey
Re: Who will we play next? - 22 years ago
it could go either way for all quint pairs....cornell/yale has been a low scoring affair...clarkson/slu(t) has been shootout up in the north country with each team taking a game (i believe)...brown/harvard, see clarkson/slu(t)...colgate/dartmouth...hmm....see previous (i think)...and i just haven't paid much attention to rpi/princeton to have an idea of what that's going to be like. i shall be aby judy - Hockey
more mention on abc sports (sarah hughes) - 22 years ago
Sarah Hughes dropped the puck before the Rangers/Flyers game. Dave Hughes was sitting with her at the game (they showed a few shots) and Dad got a mention along with Cornell's undefeated season.by judy - Hockey
Re: @ union / Saturday, March 2nd - 22 years ago
forget placid, i'm just hoping we make it out of the quints and don't pull a clarkson. we haven't been looking so good these last couple of weeks and last night, we started out looking as if our team hired a bunch of inpersonators and sent them to rpi while the real team just slept in the hotel room...anyways, i'll be at lp, with or without the team. undy - i've heard reports that we was back onby judy - Hockey
Re: Retired Numbers - 22 years ago
did Cornell line up by number at Vermont this year? I seem to remember commenting to Melissa about them not doing so. Of course, I'm kinda tired right now so my memory is shot. stupid vermont cowbell cheer...I see now how it haunts people. no, Harvard doesn't line up by number, have a pic of them and Cornell from LP semis during the anthem.by judy - Hockey
Re: Cornell VS Clarkson , Saturday Feb 23rd - 22 years ago
I was wondering if they all had new lighters or if one of their lighters would go out due to lack of butaneby judy - Hockey
Re: USA vs. Canada Gold Medal Game (SPOILERS) - 22 years ago
was that shorthanded or did the US pp just end?by judy - Hockey
Re: USA vs. Canada Gold Medal Game (SPOILERS) - 22 years ago
i thought I heard cleary's name mentioned too. in a game like this, I think we need something that will make us breathe so that we don't have to think about it. SCORE CANADA! wow, the most emotion I've seen out of gretsky during these olympics.by judy - Hockey
Re: Cornell VS Clarkson , Saturday Feb 23rd - 22 years ago
I was amused by the lighters...of course, most of what the Clarkson band does amuses me since they're one of the few schools in the ECAC whose fans have some sort of energy.by judy - Hockey
Re: USA vs. Canada Gold Medal Game (SPOILERS) - 22 years ago
go go sakic! (and canada) (i really should be cheering for the US....) and can you believe this, from somewhere in the middle of PA all the way down to MD, I'm surfing all AM and FM stations trying to find a broadcast of this game...on the way up on Friday, I could hear the USA/Russia game starting around Scranton, PA...and NOBODY broadcasts it and yet, there are three stations broadcasting theby judy - Hockey

Re: LGT LGT LGT - 22 years ago
so are the rest of the people in the various sections know to continue remot control goalie with "tap tap tap tap tap tap" (i think it's 6...it's hard not to count when he keeps doing it) instead of jumping straight to "bend over"?by judy - Hockey
Re: Everything But Anchovies - 22 years ago
Melissa, for a second there I thought you were talking about the Japanese place on Dryden, which isn't particularly good (it's about as good as Kayuga, for what that's worth) and is certainly not cheap (although it's marginally cheaper than Kayuga). Suffice it to say that I was *very* confused. . . mmm...PlumTree, that's some good food. and it IS better than Kayuga!by judy - Hockey
Re: Everything But Anchovies - 22 years ago
hell, even without the team in worcester, I'll be eating that cake!by judy - Hockey
Re: Offtopic: Olympics - 22 years ago
this is not a spoiler. it's just a comment on the michelle kwan pre-skate segment...what the hell's with the self narration? anyways, hasn't her story been heard over and over and over and over again?by judy - Hockey
Re: Everything But Anchovies - 22 years ago
IF (and that's a really big if, and lots of hoping) Cornell can make it to the regionals and stays east, I will be sitting at that game on the 23rd eating a very yummy cake from Mike's celebrating my birthday and hopefully more. I want a strawberry mousse cake...by judy - Hockey
Re: Everything But Anchovies - 22 years ago
When's Louie's Lunch going to close? Freshman year, I remembered hearing a rumor that it was closing...and it's been about 4 years since then.by judy - Hockey

Re: Everything But Anchovies - 22 years ago
damn it! now you have me thinking of food from Ithaca! Has anyone eaten at the Boatyard Grill yet this year? Prices? What's to eat? Do we need to call for reservations? mmm...and corn nuggets from chariot...by judy - Hockey
Re: Everything But Anchovies - 22 years ago
like Melissa said, we did make it there. She was entertained by the cute kids. I was and still am addicted to watching the Olympics...gee, stuff like x-country skiing, curling...stuff I never thought I'd watch I would sit happily and stare at it on the TV...and then of course there's hockey. Hanover vs. Ithaca. One weekend when I was still in high school, my parents and I were driving around NHby judy - Hockey
