Re: Favorite between-period entertainment? - 21 years ago
i was disappointed in their performance though. i thought they'd be doing tricks and formations, with movement, like a marching band on a football field. i guess that's a little too much to expect...by judy - Hockey

and if we don't go because we have no tickets, I will not be the one having a near nervous breakdown... btw, in the last two hockey seasons, i've gotten two free roundtrip tickets (so basically, 4 trips) thru southwest. whoo hoo! and if it hadn't been for that damn snowstorm harvard/brown weekend, i may have gotten another one with regionals! the current one is taking me to buffalo if the boysby judy - Hockey

Re: CU-Princeton - 21 years ago
oh yes, that's right union was fine, though it did get boring quickly in the first period but you must admit, rpi was a little scary too. sorry everybody, i was just very very upset last night after the long drive and seeing that...game... Re: CU-Princeton - 21 years ago
back home and barely alive... and i can't understand why the 4 away games i've seen this year (with the exception of first period at harvard(sucks!)), we play like crap! dartmouth, brown, harvard, and princeton. (sorry, a moment to vent) dartmouth - first game i see of the year and the team i had heard about wasn't there. boucher (bastard) says bend over, and the guys say okay. brown - memorby judy - Hockey

Re: Princeton Game - anyone going to New Jersey? - 21 years ago
So in terms of driving conditions and the drivers in the area, does Princeton fall into the group that knows what to do when it snows or the group that panics when the weatherman starts talking about snow?by judy - Hockey
Re: Princeton Game - anyone going to New Jersey? - 21 years ago
Easiest would probably be we all just decide on a place before noon (or whenever people leave) Friday. Lots of people (myself included) are going for SRO tickets so getting out of dinner to be at the rink by...6(?)...wouldn't be much of a problem. I'd would say look for me, but that's a little difficult since I generally don't wear red or anything with "Cornell" on it on game day...myby judy - Hockey
Re: Princeton Game - anyone going to New Jersey? - 21 years ago
I'm leaving work at 1...hoping to by pass DC, Baltimore, and Philly traffic (though I may actually have to get off the highway to pick up someone in there)...and am hoping to make it there...oh...4pm...(I think I'm dreaming) I would like to eat before the game since I don't know what will be open and I'm headed home pretty much immediately after the game and me hungry =by judy - Hockey

When's everybody getting into town? Anyone interested in dinner before game?by judy - Hockey
Re: [not woofing] Albany plans - 21 years ago
Yes, the drink was what I meant. Unfortunately, last year, you missed the cake (lump me into the 90%), and it was damn good cake too. It's not a difficult occasion to forget since I shall be celebrating the same thing, though I think I have 2 years on you.by judy - Hockey

Fred, (If I'm thinking correctly, and I believe I am) Your first drink at midnight Sat/Sun is on me (if I'm at the same bar as you)by judy - Hockey

moving on...Princeton (tickets, food) - 21 years ago
Since I never seem to bother to get tickets to games too far ahead of time (except to Lynah East, but we all know what happened this year), anyone know when SRO tickets go on sale for Princeton? Is it at 6pm when they open up the rink? I have some vague memory of being at the rink at 6pm and buying tickets last year... Also anyone have any suggestions on places to eat?by judy - Hockey

Re: FINALLY! Brown/Harvard - 21 years ago
Well, for the folks from DC, Dulles has 1 runway open, National and BWI are both still closed...though rumor has it National may open tomorrow morning. It's stopped snowing down here but now the idiots have come out on the roads... Amtrak is doing the Boston to DC run but my trip from Providence to Union Station took about 8 hours and really crowded until you're past Baltimore, metro only runs unby judy - Hockey
Re: FINALLY! Brown/Harvard - 21 years ago
11 hours later...slow trekking on amtrak and barely running metros...I'm home...but my car is still buried @ bwi... so I think the plan is to dig my car out on Friday and drive up to Ithaca... anyone else have any fun travel stories from the weekend?by judy - Hockey

Re: Driving directions: Ithaca to Providence - 21 years ago
don't bother taking the pike to 495 to 95 on a Friday afternoon to get to Providence. There's a stretch (exit 2) on 95 that's always under construction + the Friday afternoon traffic will slow you down...this is from experience of being on that road at 5 in the afternoon way too many times... Re: Harvard Roll Call (2/15) - 21 years ago
For some reason, I tend to think of the most random things when I'm stressed and driving...so you can imagine my shock and frustration when the scene unfolded in my mind and I tried to convince myself that it was a figment of my imagination due to too much work and being tired while I battled with the traffic trying to get onto 395 into DC (for those of you familiar with that fun and exciting timby judy - Hockey
Re: Harvard Roll Call (2/15) - 21 years ago
to explain...in a moment of stupidity while I was cleaning my room, I came across the envelope with the hockey tickets...I looked at it and thought...I already saw this game!...thinking that this was for the november game...and tossed the envelope in the trash...which went down the trash shoot a couple of hours later...which was over the weekend and since then has probably been burned by the inciby judy - Hockey
Re: Harvard Roll Call (2/15) - 21 years ago
Brown's usually pretty empty. The 50 fans + their marching band aren't really all that loud...but they do have a little gang of...what...12 year olds (?) that like to harass us...by judy - Hockey

also, last year, when we did try to walk in at 5:50 (with tickets) the guy at the door told us to come back in a few minutes.by judy - Hockey

i wouldn't call us stupid. i was referring to the obnoxious guys with the signs who wandered into the cornell section and started yelling at us...to be kicked out by the ushers.by judy - Hockey
