Re: Men's Lax Tournament 2024 - 4 weeks ago
I like that our offense is spacing things out. Their goalie made a good stop, but if we keep shooting, we'll score some goals tonight.by mike1960 - Other Sports

Re: Men's Lax Tournament 2024 - 5 weeks ago
I'm looking for the offense to keep things spread out a little more this time against Penn so the Penn slides require an extra step or two. If we can create a little more space for CJ, Mikey Long, and Kelleher, we're score a few more goals.by mike1960 - Other Sports

dag14 mike1960 CU77 Cornell wins the game, 15-10, and sole possession of the Ivy League title. Nice job with the defense. We kept Green from the top side and pushed them down the alleys. We also sent a slider to pick up pretty quick. I also like that we sent a double when the ballcarrier turned his back. That's a recipe for a turnover, and I think we got a couple from that. Too bad about thby mike1960 - Other Sports

CU77 Cornell wins the game, 15-10, and sole possession of the Ivy League title. Congrats to the team and coaches on a great regular season. It was a good win. It was clear from the start that the Big Green were going to have an uphill day. Our offense got the job done, although I think we took a few too many ill-considered shots. The absence of Mikey Long was noticeable. I hope he's ok foby mike1960 - Other Sports

You don't see a lot of lift checks anymore. That would help when the opponent loads to shoot.by mike1960 - Other Sports

Swampy BearLover abmarks BearLover Cornell hockey won the ECAC and qualified for the NCAAs this season in large part because they didn’t have to beat anybody especially good on their way to the title. So what. We'd have had a better shot at winning the whole thing if we'd learned from (and beat).much better teams. You want a lottery ticket. I'd rather have a much stronger chance of winnby mike1960 - Other Sports

billhoward This schedule 10 days in advance of the Ivy League Lacrosse Tournament has the 2-3 seeds playing the early game at 6 pm, the 1-4 seeds playing at 8:30 pm, then the title game at 1 pm. When it was neutral-site last year, I believe the 1-seed got the early game. Ignore that the graphic has all 3 games Sunday May 5. It should be semifinals Friday, day off Saturday, title game Sunday. BearLover billhoward upprdeck whats a 4 way tie look like? It looks unlikely in the extreme. As a practical matter, Cornell ain't gonna lose to 0-5 Dartmouth. C’mon, man. Big Green feels a little bit like a "trap" game. I hope we don't see another really slow start.by mike1960 - Other Sports

rss77 Just want to pay respects to Coach Buczek on playing 2 offensive midfields and giving fairly equal time. The one problem I had with Coach Tambroni was the way he would double shift his first midfield. That definitely pays off down the stretch.by mike1960 - Other Sports

CU77 mike1960 For an ND broadcasting team, I thought they weren't too homerish I thought Booker and George (brothers, cousins of ND coach Kevin) did a great job, far superior to the Quint/Carc clown car. Booker does play-by-play for ESPN (when the clowns are elsewhere) and CBS, and IMO is always very good. Booker's company Corrigan Sports produced the event, which seems to have been a huge succesby mike1960 - Other Sports

billhoward If we can stay with Notre Dame for 58 minutes, Harvard (senior day at Cornell) and Dartmouth should be no problem, um, right? And we'll deserve home ice in the NCAA first round, right? Those who attended the game did not hear, for better or worse, the pitter-patter of the announcers, such as, "Not only is this a barn-burner, but three rows of the corn came down" and sometby mike1960 - Other Sports
Re: Men's lax: CU-Notre Dame Sunday 4/14/24 - 7 weeks ago
RichH rss77 Goldstein had a bit of a rough game with a couple of turnovers-we forget this is only his 5th or 6th game. Also Notre Dame seemed to be winning groundballs late in game-but Cornell proved they belong up there with the best. Give him credit for that sharp-angle goal coming from behind the cage to tie the game at 13(?). That was amazing. Yep. He's a freshman. He's playing well overby mike1960 - Other Sports
