Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Brackets - 9 years ago
Harvard probably got a better matchup than they bargained for. UNO has been staggering for a while now and seem to be the worse team. Of course, weirder things have happened.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC Lake Placid - 9 years ago
Colgate is being very methodically dispatched so far. Still 9:30 or so to go.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC Lake Placid - 9 years ago
Funnily enough, the two teams most affected by injuries during the year will meet in the finals. Although I don't think many people are too surprised about Colgate since they were considered to be a favorite anyway.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC Lake Placid - 9 years ago
What thrilling game this has been. Only fitting that it goes to overtime.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC Lake Placid - 9 years ago
St. Cloud taking out North Dakota doesn't help anybody, so it may well just be 1 team after tomorrow.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC Lake Placid - 9 years ago
Harvard regressed very sharply after that QU shorthanded goal and essentially hung on from there on out. The next game will be interesting with two teams that can really skate.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Harvard vs Quinnipiac Who Do You Want? - 9 years ago
Garteig back in now. Interesting coaching with that move.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Harvard vs Quinnipiac Who Do You Want? - 9 years ago
Vesey already with a goal from a very very sharp angle. Scary good player Edit: 3-0 Sucks now. QU doesn't really have an answer for their offensive play so far. Garteig pulled.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC QF - 9 years ago
Sam Anas of QU might be out for a while after what looks to be a bad knee injury.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC QF - 9 years ago
I've got the same sentiments. Any year where Gaudet and his corps are kept away from the final weekend is a good one.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC QF - 9 years ago
Union already up 2-0 at QU with the 2nd period about to start. That's the only game with goalscoring so far.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC QF - 9 years ago
It'll be weird seeing one of RPI/St. Lawrence at the championship weekend. Colgate should also be there, too, but that series will likely go to three games even though the hosts match up well with Dartmouth.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC Prelims - 9 years ago
RPI takes the only game 3 in this round. They'll be sticking around North Country some more next weekend.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Women's Hockey 2015 - 9 years ago
Nice to see that Doug can still work his magic against Clarkson. One more win and then the NCAA's where anything can happen. But that's jumping ahead.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC Prelims - 9 years ago
Not ECAC, but the UMass/Notre Dame playoff game last night went to 5 OT, surpassing Yale/Union from however many years ago. UMass got the game-winner on the road.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Happy Randy Wilson Day! - 9 years ago
Of course, the Providence coach in that game was Lou Lamoriello...who is currently behind the New Jersey Devils bench (for now).by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC Prelims - 9 years ago
One loss away from the most disappointing season in a while. Scary thought.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC Prelims - 9 years ago
Princeton has not won a road game all year...and I don't see that changing going into the tennis court today.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Women's Hockey 2015 - 9 years ago
It's very likely the women will have to win the tournament again to play in the NCAA's. Quite a different scenario than last year.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
I might just consider setting up a tennis ball stand on the Dartmouth campus. Maybe they won't kick me off before I make a profit?by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Yale - 9 years ago
I always forget how much of a booming voice this PA guy has. Almost like a NHL game.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Yale - 9 years ago
Dartmouth must get a point since they win the tiebreaker with Cornell. Of course, Colgate is winning right now so this might not matter very shortly and 6th would be the highest possible ceiling anyway. Actually, it's in CU's best interests for Dartmouth to not be tied in points with them. That limits how high the former can finish and whether the visitors next weekend will be Brown or a capby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Yale - 9 years ago
Isn't 5th possible if Dartmouth and CU win along with both Colgate and Harvard losing?by Iceberg - Hockey
Cornell at Yale - 9 years ago
Senior night at Ingalls Rink. Tickets were sold out for weeks. Obviously a significant game for both teams.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
St. Lawrence and Harvard losing (again) makes it much more likely that the only autobid will be Quinnipiac.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: at Brown 2/27 - 9 years ago
The replays should really be going to the league anyway. It really shouldn't be much of a problem for the ECAC to do that considering all the troubles on-ice officials seem to have actually being consistent with video review.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: at Brown 2/27 - 9 years ago
This reffing is about as favorable as what Brown got in their last game.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: at Brown 2/27 - 9 years ago
Unlike some other teams, Meehan is actually not an unfavorable place for Cornell to be playing. Brown is on their usual late-season run, though; so I expect them to come out hard. Edit: Meep. Forgot to mention that those of us watching video will get the Brown crew today (and the student crew tomorrow). >_>by Iceberg - Hockey
