"New York's College Team" wins NCAA D1 field hockey, 4-2 over North Carolina. Syrcause finished 21-3. Syracuse was beaten by UNC in the ACC championship, led 2-0 in the title game, got tied with 13:00 to play and won by 2. [www.syracuse.com]
Cornell? 11-6 season, 5-2 Ivy, senior Marisa Siergiej is the Ivy defensive player of the year and junior Katy Weeks is also on the All-Ivy first team; sophomore Krysten Mayers was second team. Cornell played Syracuse in early October, fell 9-1. Ivy losses to the P's.
