7-7, and CU takes a 1 Min penalty in final minute of 3rd
Now 8-7 Harvard just like that. Maybe time to put Fiore in for Martinez.

Two goals since the middle of the first quarter isn't going to win many games.

I've only watched the third quarter, but we had a few good chances but couldn't finish (an all-too familiar theme)

now tie game, and Harvard goes man up. Sad to say, but Martinez seems to be back on his heels with no confidence.

11-11 and Harvard gets an EMO. D not getting it done after a three-goal lead.

Pannell with :11 left, and CU wins 13-12. Nice to see some guts. We gotta tighten up the D and goaltending.

Pannell scored three goals (including the tying and winning) and had five assists.
Considering he has fewer weapons than last season and that the opposition is keying on him, his production is even that much more impressive.

Scoop, did you notice whom Lau replaced on the first midfield?

Al, I did not catch who that was. Tambroni is apparently still trying to find the "right" combination at midfield.
What did you make of Martinez playing the entire game?

I guess Tambroni was giving him a shot at the job. One save and eight goals allowed in the second half is not a confidence-builder. I'm hoping for Fiore on Tuesday.scoop85

Edit: Just noticed Harvard scored 12 goals on only 27 shots. Cornell's ride was great (only 13 clears in 19 tries for Harvard) and Harvard had 18 turnovers, 9 of them forced, three of those by Pannell. What a game for Rob!

SU anihilates Princeton, 13-4. It will be interesting to see how we compete on Tuesday.

Pannell now leading Division I in assists with 3.1 per game and tied with Kevin Crowley of Stony Brook for the lead in points per game with 4.9.

From today's Ithaca Journal: [www.theithacajournal.com]scoop85
What did you make of Martinez playing the entire game?
Against Harvard (5-4, 1-2), Cornell junior Mat Martinez made his first collegiate start. He had been splitting time in recent weeks with freshman A.J. Fiore, and got the nod after Fiore missed time this week with an undisclosed minor injury. Martinez struggled at times, and finished with six saves, one in the second half. Fiore was available, but Tambroni stuck with Martinez.

Well, at least a win is a win. The defense looked awful after we went up by 3 goals on Harvard. Not sure if it was entirely Martinze's fault, but his save percentage could certainly be improved.

What did he ever do to you? I'm just hoping after having been used as a yo-yo this year he doesn't transfer to SU.

Pray for rain, wind, and snow...ok, that didn't work against UVA -- better throw in some flies, hail, and locusts.
