I can see a bunch of trips to Ithaca this coming spring.
Can we assume that if say Cornell loses (unthinkable) to Princeton but Princeton loses to Brown (and we beat Brown) and everyone else has two losses, we host? It's also not clear what happens if three teams tie for third and fourth - coin flip? GF-GA formula?

Two years in a row hosting Harvard and two in a row playing at Dartmouth. Strange. Maybe a result of having to reswizzle to accommodate the tournament.
An open Saturday April 17. Season opens with eight games in thirty days.

True, but three of 'em are Hobart, Canisius, and Binghamton. Actually, nice spacing between Army and UVA. The April 17 bye week after Harvard is nice before the Syracuse-Brown-Princeton gauntlet. That's a rugged prep for the tournament.

Wins still drain the tank and if just one of those games is more competitive than we expect it could put the others in jeopardy. That is a lot of lax in a short amount of time.TimVAl DeFlorio

True, but that's so for the whole season for every team, generally about ten games in 13 weeks before the NCAA starts. And the ACC schools, Syracuse, and Hopkins play even tougher schedules many years.

There's also the travel involved--
Duke '09, 17 regular season games, 3 on the road (chapel hill, chapel hill, queens). 3 neutral (baltimore, stony brook, chapel hill).
Hopkins '09 left Maryland twice- for NC and SU.
SU '09 had three road games out of 15.
Compare to CU '09, 14 reg season games, 8 on the road. Games @ uva, duke, yale, dartmouth, brown. That's a lot of miles. It's better for '10 with only a couple long hauls though but it's still more travel than the ACC/Indies do. That will of course be changing for SU at least.

The slide makers prefer "bannister" over "banister" 2-1. Maybe they're sports fans thinking of Roger.Al DeFlorio
