Biggest sport weekend for Cornell?

I was wondering what everybody's opinion was. I've only been following Cornell sports since 2002-03 when I got into school but I can't think of a bigger weekend then this. NCAA basketball tournament, ECAC final four, wrestling NCAA's.

I know hockey's national championships in '67 and '70 probably beat this weekend on its own, but I'm thinking of the entire athletic department. Last year the ECAC and NCAA tourneys were a week apart.

Any thoughts?

Actually last year, the ECAC tournament and the NCAA basketball torunament were the same weekend. And on top of that there was also the women's basketball tournament that weekend. I know that much from making it to all 3 events. That was one hell of a spring break. A quick look at the athletics website shows wrestling also having been that weekend.

Yep. I remember watching (I think it was a tape-delayed replay) of Leen's match at a bar in Albany.

Nov. 11, 1995 was a pretty big one from my undergrad days. We beat Columbia in football (for the first time in 4 tries, if you can believe that) setting up a game for the Championship the following week at Penn (let's not talk about the outcome). Soccer clinched the Ivy Championship and a slot in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1977. And Hockey beat Harvard, breaking a 10-year regular season drought. Tough to find a bigger weekend in the fall semester.

There was that double-lacrosse weekend in MD (May 2002) when the CU women made the NCAA Final Four at Loyola and the CU Men played their NCAA QF game vs. Virginia at John's Hopkins the same weekend. Both lost in heartbreakingly close games, but it was fun.

My fault, misread the date on the basketball game's recap. You're right, basketball and hockey were on the same weekend.

I guess this felt bigger because we had a chance at the NCAA championship in wrestling this year. Bad morning probably ruined that. But I guess last year probably beats this one.

Also, I think the win over Duke Tuesday probably has some carry-over effect in my head even though it's not the weekend.
