When's the last time Princeton has been 7th in the preseason poll? Have they ever even been predicted to be a lower division team?

I don't know-- but Cornell beat the Tigers 5 of the last 6 meetings. So... it is not like Princeton deserves to be up there with us.
I suspect this may be the lowest yet for Princeton. Last season was Princeton's worst in its history in Ivy competition.
Even after coming off a 6-8 season in '04-'05, they were still picked for 3rd in '05-'06.

I'm not saying Princeton DESERVES to be towards the top. Usually their name alone is good enough to make it up there though.

This is so unsettling for older alumni: not just winning Cornell basketball, but possibly Ivy title Cornell basketball. Maybe the statues on the arts quad will walk to the middle and shake hands.
Especially in light of what could shape up as a non-dominant hockey season. Well, there's always wrestling and polo.

Normally you'd be correct. But Penn, Yale, Cornell, and Columbia return so much more talent than Princeton-- so any discussion of the Tigers must begin with the lower division.
Princeton will play their usual slow down style of offense which will keep them in most games. But for the Tigers to break .500, it will take a bit of luck and some tremendous imrovement under their new coach.
