"Almost all of the guys in the program come from very modest backgrounds and receive some form of financial aid," said Steve Donahue, who is entering his 18th season coaching in the Ivy League and eighth at Cornell. "We don't have a lot of what I call three-car garage guys. But Andre's a little different because he comes from an extremely rough background and has made it on his own. I want him at this university because he deserves it, but I want him here because the university needs guys like him here, too."

One of three recruits, he should help with his above the rim athleticism. He was the slam dunk champion at the All-Canada Senior All-Star game.
