Looks like the Red are trying to get Max Seibald some more looks on offense in this game.

Very nice crowd there. Looks almost like a football game crowd... when they're decent even.

They don't look anywhere near perfect, but the D has been keeping them ahead. Penalties and faceoffs are problematic today, and turnovers aren't particularly pretty either way. Still, we've had a lot of possession and most Penn shots haven't been great opportunities.
Lets tighten up the discipline a little and maybe they can start to open up a nice lead.
Other scores:
- UNC is currently leading JHU 12-10, with 1:58 left in the 4th. That's be a major upset for a team that looked to be fading.
- UMass beat Penn St in OT.
- Navy is no longer undefeated, now 8-1, after losing 10-9 to Georgetown

About to say Cornell seemed kind of stagnant coming into the third leading 5-2. By the done I'm about to hit the send button, it's 10-3. Wish the hockey team could explode like that.
Now Cornell has to work on keeping down its penalties.

10-3 qualifies as a nice lead .
Any other information/premonitions that you would like to share with us Deltaone81? Like winning lottery numbers? When the end will come? Is there a "paper fairy" who will miraculously finish this overdue review for me? .
Thanks for the updates. I'm at work and using the Mac platform and not up to dealing with the PC side of life, and appreciate the score updates everyone has been providing. And given the comments on the other thread, it doesn't sound like it would have been worth dealing with PC/CSTV anyways.

Maybe somebody else ought to get a shot in goal for Cornell. Never know when you need your #2 guy to step in, on a moment's notice, in a tight game.

Announcers making much of Tambroni not wanting to go past 19 goals. Then the subs go in and make it 20-5 after about 2 minutes of around-the-cage. So maybe the problem is, once Cornell gets to say 17-5 with minutes to play, that's when the reserves come in, so they have a chance to score a couple and still stay under 20. Instead, the wholesale changes came after it was 19-5.
See - even Tambroni has room to grow as a coach.

Color guy just said the same thing. I guess Tambroni has his reasons.
No more premonitions Rita, sorry. That was at best a wish itself. I'll try again in the future though. As for the lottery, save your money and put it in your 401k

Wow.
So much for being a first half team.
We were a lot better against Duke in the second half too - which woulda been a much bigger differential if not for the Duke goalie making 9 saves in the 4th qtr.

Awesome - last 2 games, 39 goals.
The seniors even their career record against Penn to 2-2.

There is no way subs are going to hold back from scoring if they have the chance. If you'd warmed a bench as much as I did, you'd know.

The pre-game preview on Laxpower mentioned that we were much better in the first half than in the second. That was the basis for my post.
Of course, when the scr...back-ups go in so often and so early, I guess that's to be expected.
Nice revenge for last year. Wish I was there.

For the 'lead' lining, big problem of the game was penalties. We took 9 penalties, but only gave up 2 goals in the 8 opportunities (2 penalties were simultaneous). We also gave up 2 more seconds after an EMO expired. But if you gave Penn a good EMO percentage in the first half, we easily coulda gone to the half even or down, and then who knows what happens from there.
I'm not enough of a lax expert to know what happened in the 2nd half there, other than that the flood gates opened up. Faceoffs were a bit weak too, although we tied in the 2nd half, 7 for 14, after going 3 for 9 in the first half.
Ultimately this is a team with a ton of talent that can really step it up. But they need to be careful or more refined on a couple more things, otherwise I don't know how they'll do against really good teams that won't let them get away with mistakes (obviously pretty well, see Duke, but ya never know next time).
Still, when the other team is overmatched, they can really make them pay for it. Very very impressive the last two weeks.

I think our third quarter is generally our best quarter. I think Tambroni tends to use the 2nd o-middy line a lot in the first half during the feel out of the defense. Then the first o-mid line is nice and refreshed and really takes it to the other team in the 2nd half. Of course in games like today's, they don't get to take it to them for very long.

The color guy on the broadcast claimed that the band played Davy with kazoos for the 20th goal. I don't know if that's true, but I got a chuckle out of it.

Ahhh... the brass players might have pulled out their mouthpieces and played on those. Produces a kazoo-like noise.
