That article made me laugh. Thanks for posting the link. If I thought she would be covered by my health insurance, I'd marry my dog in an instant :-) . She's 13 yrs old and is taking a few pricey medications.

Actually, I can't figure out why Purdue can't do a payroll deduction/family flex spending plan for their employees pets. Purdue pays me and then I write a check right back to them when I pick up her drugs at the Purdue Vet School.

A few years back, I tried to put the cost of boarding my pet during a business trip on my expense report. The accountants rejected it as a non-allowed expense.

Fortunately my boss was a pet lover. He said that if I redid the expense report and hid the cost of the boarding as meals, he'd approve it, no questions asked.
