I hope there's a lurker from the 40s teams... ;)

A few years ago in I think CT I met a guy who played on the first Lynah team. If he's here, he should post now.

Probably was Ed Vaughn '58, who lived in Orange, a New Haven suburb, and was the alum who came to our home 55 years ago [yikes!] to recruit me. Great guy. Didn't know he played hockey at Cornell until I saw him in the photo on page 23 of Adam's book. Would see him at all Cornell athletic events at Yale but did not see him at the Bowl this past season. Hope he's OK.

I think you need to add "None of the above."

I'm pretty sure that's the guy I met a few years ago at a Cornell Club of Greater Hartford event (it may have been Zinck's) at a Cornellian-owned pizza place in Farmington, CT. I remember he had a print of a team photo from the '50s with him and he pointed himself out. Goaltender, right?

Edit: now that I've seen the '58 roster posted by Trotsky below, I think the guy I met was John Detwiler '60, who still shares the team record for saves in a game with 61 in 1959 vs. Harvard, at least according to the last paragraph here.

Looking at the 58 roster, I think it was either Jay Harrington or Bruce Whilton.

Good grief, I am on a poll on the Cornell board.

BTW, I would assume that at least Al is older than I am unless he was 17 years old when he graduated.

Even better, you're probably among the top 20 most frequent posters.

There is no way to get a membership list here, is there? I am #19 on the Clarkson board, so you are probably correct.

I don't think there is a way. But a quick scan of posters in recent threads and my PM box shows you're no better than #21. But considering the list of names I came up with you're probably not much lower than that either.

I don't think anyone would have trouble guessing who #1 is...
