What is David's record against breakaways and penalty shots this year? I believe goalies have a slightly better than 50% save average on penalty shots. Don't know what it is for breakaways where the goalie probably has a slightly better average because the shooter doesn't know if someone's chasing him and may force the shot.

I don't think we keep breakaway stats.

My guess is that breakaways score at better than 50% (and better than penalty shots) because included among them are odd man rushes, whereas on the penalty shot the goalie neverr had to worry about a pass.

Not as important as Dartmouth of Colgate scores, but Mankato has scored a minute into the game to continue the Badger freefall...

2-0 now 4 minutes in... this should be the final nail in Elliott's Hobey hopes...

BC also in freefall mode trailing UML 5-3 after 2.

That ending sequence was so typical of the seaon. We were unable to make what seemed to be a pretty easy clear to kill most of the period, but Union kept it in and put on their only sustained power play pressue of the game. A goal there would have been pretty devastating.

So far, I think Pegs has been outstanding, and no one has played poorly (even with his goof leading to the goal, Bitz has played well).

Yes, second too-many-men in two games. Not like Mike. Maybe this is an effect of forwards skating on D? But it shouldn't happen.

Moulson as power play ends ... waits, waits, waits, finally PP expires, shoots, and it trickles in. Maybe Matt's sensitive to his rep as only a PP goal scorer.

OK, just two more goals to go for MM to have consecutive years with a hat trick.

Union now starting to pinch and emphasize the forecheck, but with no real opportunities to show for it. This is when the inexperience on D is a concern. We need to keep getting the puck deep and keep the strong cycle going.

Besides, real groupies know exactly how to meet hockey players without having to trumpet this desire on a message board. They are intrepid, devious creatures indeed.
