8 dollars a game twitch

The article doesn't say anything about whether we get the audio we paid for or not. I'm not expecting too much.

Well I did the test feed and it was of an AHL game. Not the greatest quality and it is hard to see the puck, but you can still pretty much tell what is going on. The best news is that it seems it should be reliable since they are broadcasting 23 ECHL teams games according to their website.

"Cornell All-Access" belongs in the Book of Oxymoron.

LOL. $8/game.

Is it April 1?

If this game is being broadcast over the radio, we sure as hell better get the All-Access audio feed, because I certainly won't be watching this webcast.

Well, to be fair to All-Access, I believed it only promised video casts of home games, which this is not.

As for audio, that's a different story.

Are the games being televised, so that we could watch them for free assuming we can find a bar that gets the right channel?

Is the tournament televised on a Canadian station? Last year it was on the NHL Network, but I can't seem to find it this year. Usually this tournament is televised in Canada. Otherwise, what station is it on in the States?

The Northeastern game is carried on NU's student radio webcast [www.wrbbradio.org]

The Maine game (if as expected) will probably be carried on

And it looks like audio will be available through Cornell All(?)-Access.

[cornellbigred.com] actually has a "Watch" link, but it just takes you to the all access [sic] page, which only has the audio link.

I got an email back from B2 which informed me that the webcast will not be available in any sort of archived form. So if you want to watch it, you have to watch it live.

Gotta give those B2 guys credit for great customer service. I sent two emails and got responses within 30 seconds. Unreal.

Interesting question. The sign-up screen said $6 in big letters but the fine print below said the total was $8!

I wish I could say I had such a positive experience. When it was clear, early in the first period, that it just wasn't going to work for me, I wrote them an Email asking for a credit. All I received was an autoreply thanking me for my interest and providing suggestions to make it work. I don't know if I'll receive the credit (I'm not real worried about it). The webcast was a great idea...my connection just couldn't handle it.

Later: After writing to them again, I did receive a note that my account was being credited. A happy ending......That's all we can ask.

I went to the refresh link in the email and it gave me a feed for the 730 Maine vs. Duluth game. Do you think this is an oversight on their side or do you think I'll get charged again?

I'd guess the latter but for your sake I hope not.

Did they show Section A Banshee, Liz '05, me et al? There was a TV in the lounge level and they seemed to have crowd shots of the tUMD fans pretty often, but I never saw a video feed during our game.

Ah, whoops. I'm at the mercy of my family and had to come back to Orlando today instead of staying for the championship. Don't think any of the other band members will be back for tonight's game either. Sorry. :-/

It's OK...we had fun doing Rocky/Gary Glitter, fight song, etc. a capella.

I'm still interested in knowing how these broadcasts compare with the ones from Lynah. Better, worse, same quality?

Worse quality, by far. Very hard to follow the puck. Not surprising, considering it was at less than half the bitrate of the All-Access broadcasts.

Video quality was bad and the announcer seemed lost most of the game, but there were a lot of replays and intermission interviews which were nice.

In the first intermission of the first game, he interviewed Craig Brush, who talked about Ned, the 1970 championship, the fact that Cropper, not Dryden, was in goal, collegians in professional hockey, etc. Filled nearly the entire 15 minutes, as they couldn't get the Schafer and Cronin interviews to go.

I actually heard the Dryden part of that interview while waiting at a concession stand.
