There's a gametracker for this one, which looks like it might be a "last team with the ball wins" offensive fest.

I'm on hold calling the CSTV customer service. I note there's nothing on Gametracker, either.

Good luck with that. 35 minutes to get a "we are out of ideas" last week.

Nothing yet for me either!!!

The audio feed off the Cornell site sounds like a rotary phone being dialed. What's the URL for the working Brown feed?

Where are you guys accessing audio? Even when I click on 'Listen', the only choice I get is the video feed.

Edit: I get the same story from CSTV (and as soon as I described the problem the guy said, "Cornell?";), someone's gotta get their act straight if they expect us to pay for this.

I thought i heard the brown announcers say that the game was not being televised, and that would explain why no video feed.

Since i'm at work most weekends, i did cough up the $$$ for all-access football thus I can access the brown audio. (apparently north-west/central indiana is not in the range for norte dame games over the radio. maybe hoosiers consider southbend to be a suburb of chicago... who knows).

however, if you only signed up for the cornell all access, you probably won't have access.

btw, did anyone find out what the deal is for all-access hockey? I sent an email but they didn't answer my question, and i won't have time to follow up on it until the week of the 31st. however, any advice on who to talk to etc. would be appreciated.

Hartigan has 13 yards in 7 carries. 83 yards passing hurting us. Also kickoff and punt returns for huge yardage.

Cornell kick coverage is apparently awful. For the third straight time, Brown starts their drive in Cornell territory. Losing the field position battle against a team that can move the ball is going to hurt.

EDIT: As if on cue, Cornell stops Brown, but a good Brown punt leaves Cornell starting its drive on its own 3 yard line.

As if on cue, the Big Red says "field position this, ugarte" and has a sustained drive that ends with a punt that starts Brown on its own 1.

where you the one that started the other thread about it that I responded to? There was a press release earlier in the season saying that Cornell hockey and football video would be included. Hopefully you see this response :)

Looking over the Gametracker, it appears that Brown's kick return play involves pitching/lateraling/reversing the ball. Pretty effective so far.

They squandered the field position they got, though. Cornell with a fair catch on the 16 turned into a 15 yard return with a personal foul on Brown.

Cornell's first drive of the third quarter starts on their own 31.

After stopping Brown, Cornell once again starts the drive on their own 3. Dammit!

Update before posting: Cornell picks up 7 on the first play and 11 on the second, so they are out of the shadow of the goalpost already.

EDIT: Almost to midfield. Maybe I should just stop bitching about field position.

Nah.

Kickoff coverage really sucks. Did we scout them?

Giving up a TD on the ensuing kickoff after finishing a 97-yard drive for the go-ahead score must really be deflating.

(I just realized that Al only implied that we scored a TD at the end of a 97 yard drive. We did, including a 4th and 3 conversion from midfield.)

Brown answers by returning the kickoff for a TD. Cornell kick coverage continues to stink.

2:33 left in the 3d.

(EDIT 2: Al also realized this. Which, since we may be the only two people currently reading the thread, makes the constant editing amusing. To me, anyway.)

Hi delta one,
Actually, I was wondering about listening to feeds from other schools besides cornell.
I tried 2 weeks ago to listen to a udenver game, but was denied access. I haven't tried, too hard since then, but will be able to try tonight.

With REAL AUDIO, if you bought the college sports pass ($13.95/month v. ~ $5.00 per month single school access) you could listen to every sport with an audio feed from all the schools in their network, hockey, mens/womens hoops, football etc. I am NOT impressed with cstv. The is an all "all" access football pass for $60, and apparently there will be an all "all" access pass for hoops.

Thus, if say i wanted to listen to norte dame hockey, i would have to buy the norte dame school all access pass, however, the nd football games are covered by the $60 i already shelled out for all "all" access football.

Defense doesn't seem interested in stopping the same running play two plays in a row. 1st and goal from the 9.

TD Brown, another run. This should do it, 5:01 left in the game.

Hardigan 10 TD run; good night and good luck.

Brown 38, Cornell 24. *Sigh*

Undone by awful special teams and a very poorly timed turnover.

Cornell has begun calling desperation timeouts. 2:55 remaining. 3d and 13 for Brown at their own 43. One TO left.

Wrap it up. Brown 38, Cornell 24 in a game that the Red could have won. Probably setting up Brown v. Penn to decide if the championship is split between them or if Penn takes it themselves.

Bah, I predict that two losses will "win" (tie for) the championship for only the third time in the history of the League. Let's go parity!

Of course, in my mind, this all depends on a Big Red Franklin Field victory to tie it all up. I won't say "improbable Franklin Field victory," since, contrary to my instincts, we're not that bad in games against Penn when the Ivy title is on the line (defined as having a chance to win or share the title if things go our way on the last weekend):

Year H/A Winner Ivy Champ(s)
1958 A Cornell Dartmouth
1971 A Cornell Cornell/Dartmouth
1980 H Cornell Yale
1986 H Penn Penn (Ivy Bowl)
1988 H Cornell Penn/Cornell (Ivy Bowl)
1990 H Cornell Cornell/Dartmouth
1995 A Penn Princeton
1999 A Cornell Yale/Brown
2000 H Penn Penn (Ivy Bowl)
My perceptions are skewed probably due to being in the stands for two crushing, championship-losing games against Penn. (1995 and 2000.)

Damn those Princeton sissies for playing for the tie in 1995!

That was a great game. Running on the field isn't as much fun as climbing over the glass, but it was still pretty f'n great. Seeing how big Chris Cochrane was in person shocked the hell out of me.

Would it have mattered? Didn't Penn beat us by 40?

Yep. The top of the standings before the game were:
Cornell 5-1
Princeton 5-1
Penn 4-2
Dartmouth 4-2
We were playing Penn and Princeton was playing Dartmouth. Obviously, all teams involved had something to play for.

Seeing that we were being dismantled by Penn, Princeton, with some time yet remaining, kicked a field goal from the one on first and goal to tie and win the title. First and goal. First and goal! Pardon my language, but I consider that a real pussy move--worthy of the "Tigers."

My nascent dislike of Princeton and the clubby smarminess for which it stands took a giant leap towards mature hatred that day.

Aha. Still that was a really odd Cornell team. I think we won our five games by a total of 9 points, mostly because of missed short FGs and XPs. Getting a piece of that title would have been weird.

The year before was strange as well. That was the 6 and 0 / 0 and 4 season. But Penn was running away with the league that season, so it didn't hurt as much.

In 1995, actually, we handled Brown, Yale, and Columbia rather well. You must be thinking of the close wins vs. Harvard and Dartmouth. We also had a very close loss against Princeton. In the mist, whilst driving for a winning score, I'll remember, "Joyce goes down! Joyce goes down! Joyce goes down!"

Considering what had happened the week before the Penn game [www.tbrw.info], and what was to happen later on [www.tbrw.info], I can't really complain too much about that year. I know a certain friend of mine who wears a 96 Cornell football jersey who has some unresolved issues, though... :)

I think you're thinking of the 2000 team, not 1995.

Actually, I remember celebrating the news that Princeton had come back to tie it. It meant we didn't get a share of the Ivy title, but dammit, it also meant Penn didn't get one either!
