Athletics at its best

I just trooped across campus to turn in my season ticket renewal. I arrive at Bartels at 10:15 - 15 minutes after ticket office opening time. The sign on the shuttered window says "Opening at 11:00 due to annual department meeting." Another poor sucker walked in from the parking lot as I was leaving. So how many people from all over the county showed up expecting the ticket office to be open during its normal hours on the deadline day for ticket renewal? Couldn't the deparmental meeting be scheduled at 8:30 to avoid impacting customers? Better yet, couldn't they schedule the meeting on a day other than deadline day?
