Ticket prices

I just got my season ticket renewal form, and if I'm doing the math right, non-student, non-section-C season tickets are now $15 a game. 11 ECAC games + 2 vs MSU + 1 vs Niagara + 1 vs RIT = 15 games, and non-section-C tickets, not including playoffs or the under-18 game, are $225 a set.

This seams to indicate that face value has gone up from $12 to $15, and there's apparently no sort of discount for season tickets.

COnsidering the demand for tickets it would be surprising if there was a discount. The purpose of discounted season tickets is to encourage ticket sales, so that the team/institution gets your money upfront instead of the possibility of selling the seats on a game by game basis. When supply is tight as it is at Lynah there's no need to do this.

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but my recollection is that when face value was $12, season tickets worked out to something like $11.66. (E.g., we were reimbursed less than $12 for the Elephant Walk tickets.) Of course, the Section C surcharge made them more expensive than face anyway.

Ticket prices should be fixed at $x/2, where x is last year's wins.

I bet then Cornell would really push to have the Ivy schedule limit increased.

No, the AD would push to get a lot more games against RIT and Holy Cross.

Over the 15 years that I have had season tix, I think there has usually been a discount for season ticket holders. I seem to remember it being about $1 a ticket for most of the '90s.
If $15 a game is the cost to have a high quality, national contender of a program, its definitely worth it.

Yea, so...Minny sells out every game at $50+ per game per seat for season ticket holders. CU hockey is still by far the best deal of all D1 hockey programs. Think about seeing a top 10 team in football or squeakball and what you'd pay for a ticket. It's not free, but it's still a bargain!!!

SU season tickets for football work out to $28 per ticket, and that doesn't include parking (add about $10 per trip). Imagine what they could get if they were selling out the place?

They do have some expensive upgrades to pay for, but it still seems steep when compared to Big Red hockey.

Schafer's success is probably costing athletics some bucks in terms of keeping him and his assistants. If the extra few bucks a game helps keep the team winning, I'm all for it. And $15 doesn't seem unreasonable, especially with cost of energy (ice) these days!

Yup. One things that helps us is we're not working to pay off some new modern stadium; I dont know the detals but I'd bet Cornell paid off Lynah 40 years ago.

Unless we're lucky enough to have it completely covered by someone's donation.

the renovations are not coming from ticket revenue that much is known.. we do need some donations to cover certain parts of the plans..
