Your choice for captain?

Your choice for captain?

I know last year it took a while for the captains to be announced. During some random searching, I found that Harvard has already chosen their captain (Hafner) for next year:

Any thoughts on who might be captain(s) for next year? Moulson is the obvious choice, but who else? Hynes? Gleed? Scott?

Knowing nothing about the dynamics of the team, I would give Matt and Shane the "C" and give McKee whatever honorary title is allowed (goalies cannot be full captains).

I would choose Moulson and Hynes as co-captains. I really think Chris Abbott, Pegoraro, or Gleed would be worthy of a letter, but I think the best choices would be Moulson and Hynes. Moulson for obvious reasons and Hynes because he brings an edge and attitude to the game that is extremely valuable and influential.

Are you sure that's true in college? Maine's Blair Allison wore the C back in the mid-90s.

Rule 2. Section 2b. "A goalkeeper shall not be entitled to exercise the privileges of captain."

That may be a rule, but it hasn't prevented goalies from wearing letters in recent years. I believe Sigalet at Bowling Green wore a "C" last season.

I know Schafer has always expected that Chris Abbott would wear an "A" or a "C" at some point, so I wouldn't be surprised if Moulson got the "C" and Abbott and Hynes each wear an "A".

Obviously I think Moulson will be a captain, but I think one of the A's will go to Pegs. His example to the rest of the team was a great one this year. Namely working his tail of to prove he's a player, both ways not just offensively. What I admired the most was how he and Cook were the two guys who would stand on either side of the door leading of the ice, shaking each teammates hand at the end of all the periods.

I figure the guys have chosen by now, right? but I think the only year they announced it early was at the post-2003 FF celebration at Lynah. anyone care to ask someone on the team? ;)

I particularly loved how he dived in front of that Harvard shot at the end of a penalty kill in the 3rd period of the ECAC Championship game(those of you who were there should remember it)...that play was a metaphor for his performance all season

I'm pretty sure they always announce it at the awards dinner thing which I think is coming up very soon. The players may have voted but I'm not sure they find out until the announcement.

They definitely did not announce the captains at the awards dinner last year. I was wondering when that dinner was coming up since I think it was earlier last year.

Because of the ability to "discuss" with the officials, I always thought they 1) tried not to give C's and A's to players on the same lines and 2) tried to have at least one forward and 1 d-man.

If that holds, Moulson and Gleed would be tagged. I'd guess an Abbott as well.

Moulson is a shoe in for captian. I wouldn't be surprised to see Pegs and one of the Abbotts get an A... the only reason Hynes wouldn't get one is because he will probably play on the same line as moulson. Though a captain MAY leave the bench during a stoppage to discuss something with the refferee, it is generally frowned upon. Hence why it would be foolish to have two captians on the same line

I am not sold that 1) Hynes and Moulson being on the same line will factor in and 2) that Hynes and Moulson will play on the same line next season.
