Hot damn: Four top-15 teams from the ECACHL plus one HM ... three in the NCAAs ... and Dartmouth or Vermont as first alternate had Mercyhurst been unable to serve.

Wow we fell 2 spots in the polls in these last weeks and we did not even lose. I guess more eastern voters went towards BC rather than us, also the western vote we would probably around 5-7 spots on their voting. Even though it is useless, it is amazing the voters thought less on our team when we only gave up 3 goals in the last 4 games.

20 bucks says that Cornell falls a spot next week even if they win both games this weekend!

I'll take that easy money. This was the last poll.

Was it US Today that continued to have polls after the tournament had started two years ago? I'm pretty sure there was a final poll from one of the two sources after the tournament was over.

OK, it looks like it was pre-FF only:

I'm pretty sure Age is right. It'd be pointless to do one more poll next week, since by then only four teams will be left. (Well, it's always pointless to do polls, but you know what I mean.)

They may be pointless, but seeing the records listed like that points out that we are guaranteed to finish the season with fewer losses than any other Division 1 hockey team. (That and $600+ will get me to Minneapolis...)

If 2003 is a guide, USA Today continues polling through the end of the tournament, while USCHO is done for the year: [www.tbrw.info]

We've actually violated one of the Laws of Poll Dynamics: teams that win shouldn't fall in the poll, even if the teams below them beat stronger opponents. (This law is one of the reasons polls are a bad way to evaluate performance, and came up in the BCS discussions season before last.)

I think highly of them. Great goaltender. They're almost on par with CC and Denver the way they're playing. But it wasn't my vote.

That is, assuming they play him. They've been alternating Parise and Lamoureux and have continued the rotation into the playoffs even though Lamoureux hasn't won since January. Parise played in the PIG and the Consy last weekend (NoDak wins) and Lamoureux played in the semi (NoDak loss, in OT). Though on second thought, Lamoureux's stats are virtually identical to Parise's: both have .914 Sv% and the difference in GAA is 0.04. Maybe the team hasn't played with as much confidence in front of the freshman? Or maybe the losses are dumb luck. Anyway, maybe it doesn't matter who NoDak puts in goal this weekend.
