Do those of us who met up for the Clarkson CSTV game wanna meet up for the tape-delayed semis?
On the plus side, it'll only be 7pm here when it starts.
On the minus side, that's the same time as Stanford's first round bball game, so the places will likely be crowded for that. Though they should be able to spare at least one tv I would hope.

Dianne '99 posted on the "CSTV shows CU at 10pm Fri" thread that she's willing to host people in the Bay Area. I'm worried about the prospects of getting a sports bar TV tuned to hockey during round 1 of the squeakball tourney, esp. when it's against a local team.

Bump. I sent an email to Dianne; is anyone else here in the bay area too? And if the Palo Alto folk are reading, what're your plans?
I imagine in bars with 10 to 15 to 20 TVs we could get them to turn one to hockey...

It sounds like the downtown Old Pro in Paly is pretty hopping right now and so even if we could somehow get a TV turned to hockey we couldn't hear it. Plus there is a $10 cover.
Of course, it is St. Patty's Day so that may explain some of it.
A home is the way to go. What city does Dianne live in?

Dunno as of yet; sent an email but have yet to hear back.
(On the plus side, if this doesnt work, I just noticed XMI is free since the ECACHL covers the cost.)

Hi all,
Sorry for the delayed response; I just got home from Albuquerque. I live in Cotati (Sonoma County). I'm reading through my emails now, so expect responses shortly.

Hmm, given the distance and no car (meaning gotta use trains etc), plus I have a flight early the next morning, dont think I can make it. Thanks for the offer though.

I am in the same boat as French Rage. I do appreciate the offer Dianne. I just might try my luck at the new Old Pro.

Folks,
Since XMI is free and the weather is lousy, I suspect we all will be watching in front of a computer. But we can "chat" live here. Almost as good as going to a bar to watch the game...
Go Big Red! (I am glad that Colgate wore down those Hah-vahd weenies in the semi. This championship is going to be awesome: Two Hobey Baker finalists against each other! An instant classic!)

Tom, there won't be a webcast of the championship game on XMIevents.

I certainly could've given you a ride, but I just got home a few minutes ago and it's 2:37 now...

I'm in the bay area (SF at the moment) on vacation and looking for a place to watch the final. If anyone's going out to a bar or something, give me a ring: 773-960-2994. (I won't be sitting in front of a computer, so a post here won't help much.)
Thanks!
