Root for Dartmouth-Vermont going three games. Make the eventuall winner a little more tired and battered heading into the Friday ECAC semifinal game against the top seed.

Dartmouth draws its [correction] second OT penalty (too many men) and Vermont (Chris Myers) scores for 3-2 win. Series tied 1-1 and goes to game 3. Root for a tired Dartmouth to beat a tired Vermont (our opponent Friday) Sunday.

This is a tough call.
Dartmouth's been to the ECAC semis three of the past four years (although losing every time); Vermont not since the smurfs. I think Dartmouth would be the tougher opponent. On the other hand, Vermont will suck up a lot of tickets.

Not so sure how well Vermont will travel... they will be playing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (basketball) next weekend, and their fans tend to be more into basketball, and have a lot of cross-overs (mostly townies).

If Vermont B-Ball gets seeded in Worcester, their fans will have to pick between the two (though the NC$$ lists the Worcester games as sold out). Other than that, the nearest site to Vermont is Cleveland. They could make it there for Thursday's loss, and be back in Albany for Firday's hockey game at 4:00.

Based on the tourney the last 2 years.... Vermont fans will go anywhere, and will find a way to get tickets. Especially because it is the senior year for Coppenrath and Sorrentine, and Tom Brennan is retiring. They will choose basketball, trust me.

Easy call for me. My wife's a Dartmouth alumna and she agreed to come to Albany with me for the tournament. See everyone there.

Ya beat me to it!
Tech had a 4 on 3 power play (I believe it was) at the end when they hit the post.
This was a great game to listen to; splendid pressure on both sides.
Denver wins the series 2-0.

Cornell still fifth in the PWR with all games completed. HOWEVER, with almost any bonus I put in, they get into the top four.

I think you may be doing something wrong, Ari. I just put in bonuses of .0050, .0030, and .0010, and those keep Cornell 5th. Then I tried .0030, .0020, and .0010, and those also kept Cornell 5th. From what I understand, those are the two most likely bonus schemes.
Just for kicks, what bonuses did you put in to get Cornell to 4th?
AndyW.

.3, .2, .1
.5, .3, .1
I'm not too familiar with how it works though. I just thought that .3, .2, .1 is the normal bonus. Regardless, I think the bonus may end up being really important

You're off two decimals. We expect the bonuses to be .003, etc.

OK, so your bonuses were 100 times too large. I think that explains it.

This is why you should sanity-check your orders of magnitude. The difference between the #1 team and the #58 team in unmodified RPI is only .2394. Giving bonuses of .5000 and .3000 would make the RPI dominated by quality wins and relegate RPI to a tiebreaker for teams with the same number of quality wins. You might as well give bonuses of 1.000, 3.000, and 5.000.
ETA: with your bonuses, Northeastern has the best RPI in the country!
