Are *any* coming? Newman-Potters are generally worth an entire section of fans by volume ("are you saying I'm loud"?)

I thought you already said that Susan was going to come if she got a ride. Maybe she only counts as 0.5 SNPU, put that's something, right?

No confirmed ride for her yet.

I begin to worry that if we have no NP presence we may offend the Hockey Gods.

The AD should *pay* Julie to come, forgodsake.

Sounds good to me. And if Andy does decide to pay, then I'm willnig to change my name to Newman for the next couple of weeks...

Nope, it only works for blood and marriage. I suppose you could marry Susan and change your name, but (1) that would be weird and (2) ewww....

I can't pass this one up. If the AD is buying and will pay for transportation, too, it might be worth it. But, I really didn't see any team worth watching in it this year.

Hi all,

Yep, that's right. We aren't coming. I know, total slackers. Jill is in NC for Spring break. Robb and Canadice moved to Texas where my parents are visiting and I am just a slacker.

So, I guess we should have trained you guys better to be loud :-) Maybe next season.

Don't worry, I will be cheering louding into the TV set.

Julie

PS That Clarkson Grad is my Uncle, we claim him as family but Clarkson Yuck. BTW, how did Clarkson do at Placid?

No, no, no. I'm sure you meant to type "3/14/70."

However, I finally have a phone line to my house down here in the 3rd world, so I am back online. Just in time for all 4 of our remaining games to be on TV anyway.... B-]

Why is Jill in the North Country for Spring Break? Potsdam and Canton would be a lousy place for a vacation :-D

Sorry, Robb, that was typed right. 3/14/70 was just Bulldog's greatest game. Not often does the goalie for the losing team get MVP. But I sure do wish John had been a figure skater like his daughter!

2/2/71 was THE greatest game by both teams. Of course 2/2/72 wasn't bad either. Gee, now that I think of it, I don't recall ever watching Clarkson lose a game in Lynah. :-)

BTW, didn't the #1 seed usually (sometimes?) play the first semi game at Lake Placid? I see that Tech and havad (yea, we don't like them either) played the first game this year. Can only guess the effect that had the next night. Still not as bad as the old (at least I hope they don't still do this) NCAA format of one semi on Thursday night, second semi on Friday night, and title game on Saturday night. That was a real bummer late in the title game for the Friday winner.

Gotta agree with Keith about vacationing in the NC this time of year. Although, summertime is great. I think last year it was on a Thursday. :-)

Cornell and RIP played the late semi because RIP had played the night before. With the death of the PIG they will likely go back to giving the #1 seed the choice of semi times.

Hmmm... let's see, Uncle Tom... If you're referring to the (4) '68-'71 seasons (an assumption based on the "CCT '71" in your sig.), then I'd venture a guess that one of the main reasons (no, the main reason) why you never had the chance to see Clarkson lose a game at Lynah is that the Foldin' Knights bailed on what shoulda been a pair of visits in '68 & '70. Gee, I wonder why they picked those two years... :-P

(PS -- For those of us who aren't whizzes in the genealogy department, could you please explain how you can be someone's brother and uncle at the same time? Just curious -- no need to answer if that would bring embarrassment upon the, uhh, clan...) uhoh (EDIT: ...unless, of course, there are TWO Susans... in which case, nevermind!)

But isn't Tom actually your uncle by blood and marriage, or something like that? (It's kind of late at night to work out Newman genealogy...)

No, no, no, Susan E. - you've got it all wrong. Tom is your mother's brother-in-law's wife's brother, and therefore your uncle.

yark <--- Why Clarkson hockey fans wear green - to go with their complexion after the playoffs....

Damn, and I left my Newman-Potter scorecard back in Ithaca.

So Robb, what are you doing up so early? :-)

We're heading down to brunch at the Crowne Plaza before going to watch the early game.

Thanks, Robb. I was hoping someone could figure it out, and you explained it clearly. nut

I was at Lynah in '72 and '99. Also saw 72 SIT game and 83 & 84 games at CCT. Maybe I can get a bidding war going. Clarkson AD to buy me tickets and Cornell AD to keep me away.

JTW, I forgot about the PIG. One more way to beat on the #1 seed. Yea, they get a tired team the first night, but they are in worse shape on the more important second night. The PIG is dead!! Long live the PIG (in remembrance only).

Robb, I'd guess you would rather have green and gold in your bank account than red.

Cheers,
Uncle T

PS: Congratulations on your victory yesterday.
