ELynah used to have a link to a site where you could order numbered Cornell hockey jerseys. Are these no longer available? All the on-line retailers that I have found only sell them without numbers.

Perfect Screen Printers, in Ithaca, sells jerseys, and will put a number on for you if you like. I believe they are the organization that sells apparel at the games as well. I imagine that if you call them, they can work something out with you with respect to shipping. (I am not affiliated with PSP in any way, beyond being a satisfied customer.) Their number is 607 272 0099.
Good luck.

Except that PSP sells Red Wings blanks that say Cornell, not Cornell jerseys. The sleeves are wrong.
If you don't care about that, then PSP is probably one of the easiest options.
If you want a real game worn jersey, see the FAQ:

You could also bring any jersey to PSP and they will put a name/number on it. So the good-quality Koronis replicas that they sell at the Campus Store and a number of online retailers can be brought to PSP.
[ivysport.com] (or perform your favorite websearch)
Or Koronis's site: [www.koronisjerseys.com]
However, they can only send you numbering kits loose due to licensing restrictions. PSP pricing is pretty resonable for numbering.

Koronis has a great price on the jersey, $79.95, but they charge an extra $30 for the numbering kit (and I have to pay CA sales tax). Had I known this a couple weeks ago, I would have bought a game worn jersey before the run on them. Since there were only two left a week ago, my guess is they're all gone.
So I'll buy one from Koronis because I really want to have one for the trip(s) I hope to make to see Cornell play next month (and maybe April as well). Since I can customize the jersey, my goal, if possible, is to get a jersey as close as possible to what Schafer wore when he was a player, so I have a few questions for the gods of Cornell hockey history.
1. I know the home whites were a lot different back then (leaning bear and red on the shoulders and sleeves), but my recollection of the away reds is pretty similar to today's. Does anyone know if the away jerseys were in fact the same in the 80's as they are now (minus the ECAC patch)?
2. Did the away jerseys have player names on the back?
3. I recall that Schafer was an alternate captain by his senior year. Am I right?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I believe Schafer was one of the three captains in 1986.

I'm pretty sure he was a full captain as a junior and a senior.

According to the Cornell hockey book, that jersey remained until coach McCutcheon brought back the classic style in 87-88. There is a picture of the away jersey from the 84-85 season, which simply reverses the color pattern of the home jersey. Since Mike graduated in '86, I doubt he wore the classic.

So the only difference was the home jersey had the leaning bears and the away jerseys didn't, i.e. the away jerseys had white running over the shoulders and sleeves? If so, I'll just order a jersey with a #3 numbering kit, maybe get an ECAC patch and be done with it. If there was any way I could do it, I would love to get a jersey like the 1986 home whites with the bears on the shoulders.
Is this the one you're looking for?

Early to mid 80's, I think.

Just like that but rather the home white equivalent. I'm almost positive they didn't have the bears on the shoulders of the away red jerseys in 85-86, so my guess is that's an 86-87. If I hadn't just ordered a red jersey from Koronis today, I'd probably want that one too. #7 at the time was Chris Grenier, who scored the winner in OT of the 1986 ECAC championship game against Clarkson. Thanks for posting the pictures.

The numbers for the back of the jerseys that Koronis sells are 10" high (as they sell them for all teams). Looking at pictures and ratioing the size of the numbers to players' height, they look 12" high to me. Can anyone who has a game worn jersey check the numbers on the back?
Thanks.
Thanks.
