Jack McDonald, AD at Quinnipiac and chair of the selection committee, spoke with Jayson Moy of USCHO. His comments are at [www.uscho.com] . Among his proposals are increasing automatic bids through Ivy League and Big Ten separation [:shudders::].

No time to say more but.... McDonald's proposals are horrible. Ivy League and Big Ten? Horrible. Regionalization good? Moving the season back and playing until late April? What is this man smoking?
I particularly dislike his assertion that only the "purists" dislike the new regionalism in the tournament. Hello! I haven't heard a single comment in favor of the new setup (I'm exaggerating a little - at least one person here expressed a positive view). If you think it's better and the NC$$ higher ups do then fine - you're the final arbiters. But don't pretend that everyone likes what you're doing.
I used to think the people bashing Jack McDonald on USCHo were just doing so because they resented the MAAC, it's autobid and its multisport standing with the NC$$. (Well, actually I'm sure it was those things initially.) But more and more I think that he deserves a lot of the criticisms that he has been given. When does he get the hell off the committee?
