CSTV posted its spring 2005 TV lacrosse schedule. Trivia question: Which top eight and damn near final four team of 2004 is not on the TV schedule, even though Colgate is, and Princeton is (multiple times), along with Adelphia (the college, not the cable company) and Notre Dame? Wonder if they'll use the same graphics format as last year that obscured the upper left quadrant of the screen. Not a problem for say baseball but a big problem for lax when the camera is on the sidelines and the attackers are going right to left; that means the goalie is in the upper left corner and he's obscured. Sheesh.

Wow, that is really disappointing. :-(

I sent an email specifically highlighting their decision to air the Princeton @ Dartmouth women's lacrosse game on April 23 instead of the Princeton @ Cornell men's lacrosse game on the same day.

I trust that CSTV actually has a chance to be responsive to fan comments. Worth a shot.

Possibly not the best strategy. CSTV is rather proud of their women's sports coverage.

It really isn't about men or women... ;-) How can they ignore the biggest Ivy League Lacrosse game and instead show different Ivy League Lacrosse game? There. :-P

Princeton Women's game

Of course you know my heart is always with the Red lacrosse team but in this case, the women's game (Dartmouth- Princeton) is not only huge in the Ivy League but it's also a major (top 4or so) national ranking game almost every year.

I saw this game in Hanover about four years ago while I was waiting for the men's game to start, and it's very intense. Regretably, you can't get a good Tiki drink in Hanover...

There's *any* kind of drink one cannot get in Hanover? Or are you making your focus selective and limiting it to drinks made from bottles bearing federal tax stamps? It is so much more convenient in the land of the Green when whatever one drank at the game can later be poured, safely, into the radiator.

I'm in complete agreement with Ivyman. Sure, the fact that Cornell lacrosse is not gonna be on CSTV in 2005 is irritating. But any serious lacrosse fan would acknowledge that the Dartmouth-Princeton women's game has had -- and likely will have -- national implications that exceed those of the Cornell-Princeton men's game. Nor do I have a problem with them choosing to broadcast the LeMoyne-Adelphi game, perhaps the biggest D-II game of the year (lots of in-state story lines there too).

Cornell's in pretty good company: Virginia, Duke, Massachusetts, Towson, Rutgers, Ohio State, Loyola, Pennsylvania, Brown, Dartmouth, Hobart, and a host of other high-impact D-I men's teams will not be on CSTV this year.

Shoot, I was amazed they featured Dartmouth at Cornell last year. Maybe they decided they decided there was something unappetizing about all those empty seats (I know it turned my stomach).

The only game on CSTV's 2005 docket that makes me snarky is North Carolina at Colgate. Part of me wonders whether they'll actually follow through on that.

Bottom line: Three years ago, I never thought I'd see this much college lacrosse on television. Every year there's more. I ain't complaining.
