What is with all these penalties? Don't know why I shouldn't believe the RPI announcers--who have always seemed pretty straight--when they say O'Byrne's was obvious.

Neither Jayson Moy nor Kurt Stutt are doing the broadcasts any more. :-/ Instead we have Norm MacDonald on PbP and Special Ed on color.

According to the RPI broadcast, the skater for McKee got on the ice too soon. If that was the case, I can't see how it's not too many men, but whatever.

Re: Cornell 1 RPI 0, 1st

I think that play was something like a 2 on 1 for Cornell, with a delayed PP against RPI, but the extra man jumped on the ice before McKee got to the bench, leading to a too many men against us? Apparently they're being strict about that this year???

Or I'm totally off.

Edit: Right Jeff, wouldn't that have been a too many men? It wasn't apparently, but they blew it dead anyway. I'm very confused. Or perhaps the RPI broadcasters are just full of B.S. and if was just offsides.

I think there are special provisions in the rules where if you substitute early for the goaltender, it's just a whistle and not a too many men penalty.

13 powerplays in two periods? I vote that Murphy is whistle-happy!

Somewhat off topic, I'm watchin UAA-Wisconsin on the dish (it's 1-1 near the end of the 1st). There was just a scrum that resulted in a bunch of penalties. They gave UW an extra penalty to create a PP for Anchorage. What's notable is that the ref is Don Adam (who you may remember from the frozen four) and when he was talking to the scorer about the penalties you could hear him say, "I don't know. I make this shit up as I go."

Here are the longest strings of unanswered Cornell goals since the beginning of the 2002-03 season:

13 ... 11/8/02-11/16/02
10 ... 11/22/02-11/30/02
09 ... 2/7/03-2/8/03
08 ... 1/5/03-1/17/03
08 ... 10/3/04-11/6/04
08 ... 11/27/04-12/3/04
07 ... 3/15/03-3/21/03
07 ... 11/08/03
07 ... 12/5/03-12/27/03
07 ... 2/6/04-2/13/04

Current streak is 07.
