Hynes pokes the puck loose while Hyphen tries to cover it and it comes loose but whistle blows. Some pushing and shoving ensues with Topher right in the middle. :-D

McKee makes great saves and Harvard gets a penalty while McKee is on the ground.

Interference on Cavenaugh.

Is there a way to access the chat via the web? The link I used last year (irc.warped.net) does not work anymore. I don't think I should install an IRC client on my work computer...

EDIT: whoops, sorry, wrong thread.

Well, safe to say we dominated that period, with help from power plays (the irony being we scored during theirs). Good saves by McKee, good possessions in their zone.

I wouldnt be surprised, they've lost 4-8, 1-8, 0-15, and 1-10, with the only win 8-5. But hey bad hockey is better than no hockey.

They're no Cornell. :-}

How's UCLA's team?

the rink is at 555 Nash St., about a mile south of the 105...it's the HealthSouth Training Center, where the LA Kings and Lakers practice as well

We're 4-1, we beat Cal 4-3, lost to Cal 4-3, beat Washington 10-2 and 8-3 and beat Puget Sound 12-1...this is our home opener.

UCLA has karma on its side too, I've got a Cornell hockey t-shirt to wear under my pads

cornelldavy, you're not alone in SoCal. One of my friends is in grad school at UCLA, and I remember last year she went to watch the televised games with the LA Cornell Club. If you're not on their mailing list, you may want to check it out. Or come up here to NorCal and hang with us next week when we go see Murray play in San Jose!

Iggulden, Knoepfli, and O'Byrne were Cornell's best players tonight. Easy choices.
Harvard had no more than four good scoring chances the entire game. Cornell's offense wasn't great, but Harvard has an extremely good blueline, so I am satisfied. Cornell was definitely the superior team tonight in almost every regard.

I'd throw Cook into that mix too. Played solid defense and moved the puck like Brian Leetch. All the talk of Noah Welch being an All-American but I though Cook was a better player - tonight, at least. Harvard was overmatched and aside from a few quick shots and a scramble in front of the netm didnt really pressure Cornell at all. The vast majority of the game was played in Harvard's end, and were it not for a few real great saves by Hyphen, it could have been much worse. I have to say I was a little dissapointed with Cornell's powerplay; there was one point during the early 5 on 3 that every player was within 10 feet of the crease and thats not an exageration. But overall, a great game played by Cornell.

They took their time-out to get organized at the end, having pulled Hyphen for an extra skater. But they took the face-off with only 5 skaters on the ice. It must have been 15 or 20 seconds before the 6th guy got into the play.

Cornell is looking good thus far, though none of the teams we've played have looked very strong.

Let's Go RED !! If it's Brown, flush it down!

Hmm, might have been difficult had they actually checked people. I know i for sure wasn't checked and i actually came in and out a couple times getting tickets to friends who didn't get there before warmups. Was anyone really checked? Or maybe it was the menacing look i gave any of the ushers/ticket takers and such.
