Doug Murray didnt play in the last two preseason games i was wondering if anyone knew wheather or not he was injured or if they just didnt want to risk him getting injured.

I might be hallucinating, but I thought I remembered he was having shoulder surgery or something after last season.

hockeysfuture.com forums say Murray had 'flu-like symptoms' so he didn't play in the last couple games.

Additionally, and I don't know if this means anything, but I saw Murray at the Club Rugby game on campus 2 weekends ago. Didn't see any noticable injuries.

No no no.

WHICH former Big Red defenseman was seen at a Cornell rugby game two weeks ago? Rumor has it he's hurt, but it would be pretty "Swede" for his AHL teammates if he was as healthy as he seemed. Were there any visible injuries? No way, Jose!

If anyone lives in the L.A. area, the Utah Grizzlies are playing a game against the Manchester Monarchs in the Staples Center on Oct. 23...good chance to check out Lenny on the West Coast. Also an opportunity to see Dustin Brown, who plays for the Monarchs.

Lenny was handed his first loss of the season in an unspectacular 4-3 loss, on only 20 shots.

Man, we ALL need Doug Murray bobbleheads. For those of us who can't make it to Cleveland that day (since we'll probably be at Lynah East instead), how can we get them? :-D

I watched P.C. Drouin Friday night playing for the Fort Wayne Komets of the UHL. He's taking regular shifts on the blueline. I believe he was a forward at CU.

Looked at in a more positive light, it shows the Rangers are generating some offense.

>>> [nyt] Last Dec. 22, after a game in which the skaters were highlighted more than ever and Prince [the plaitiff in the sex harrassment case agaisnt NY] was interviewed between periods on the MSG Network, the skaters attended a party at a bar near the Garden called Lobby. Later, some skaters went to a restaurant for dinner. When the other skaters left before her, Prince said, Jason Vogel, a public relations manager for the Rangers, and another man who was not named in the suit offered her a ride.

I think they took off Bâby's pic off of the front page of the Wolve's web site but Murray is on top of the Baron's web site, second from the left among the 4 players.

I've got tickets for the Doug Murray Bobblehead night in row 9 behind the Cleveland bench. If you decide you want to go call the Barons ticket office, you can get better seats than on ticketmaster. I'm still working on trying to get extra bobbleheads for those of you that can't go.;-)

So, I'm trying to put together a list of where all the Alums are playing these days. This is what I have so far....

David Leneveu - Utah Grizzlies (AHL)
Doug Murray - Cleveland Barons (AHL)
Stephan Bâby - Chicago Wolves (AHL)
JM Pelletier - Utah Grizzlies (AHL)
Sam Paolini - Toledo Storm (ECHL)
Greg Hornby - Florida Everblades (ECHL)
Ben Wallace - AC Boardwalk Bullies (ECHL)
Krzysztof Wieckowski - Greenville Growl (ECHL)
Kent Manderville - Timrå IK (Sweden)
Ryan Vesce - Rogel BK (Sweden)
Jason Elliott - Bietigheim-Bissingen (Germany)
Mike Rutter - Odessa Jackalopes (CHL)
Travis Bell - BS Mudbugs (CHL)
Doug Stienstra - Amersterdam Bulldogs (Holland)

Anyone know where Underhill (he was in Blackhawks camp, but he's dropped off the radar since then), Palahicky, Ladouceur, Chartrand, etc. are?

I am pretty sure Underhill will return to the Pee Dee Pride of the ECHL. He isn't currently on their roster because he was invited to participate in the Blackhawks camp.

Chartrand was an unrestricted free agent at the end of this past NHL season. I can't find anything about him signing, but I have to imagine a guy with NHL experience will find someplace to play until the labor difficuties get worked out.

Last season, David Kozier played for the Manchester Phoenix in England; I'm not sure if he's still playing there. Ladouceur and Palahicky both played for the Alaska Aces of the ECHL last season, but neither is on this season's roster.

Murray picked up his first goal of the year, and 3 penalties, in a loss tonight
Bâby also grabbed goal #1 and a stick for a trip to the box in a Chicago win
JMP lost for Utah after stopping 30, allowing 5

edit: one goal against JMP came courtesy of Ithaca native Dustin Brown.

HockeyDB says Palahicky is with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the UHL (along with Travis Bell and the infamous Dan Wildfong of Colgate and Michigan penalty box cheer fame). Team website confirms that Palahicky is with the Mudbugs but unfortunately also says he was placed on injured reserve on or about this past Thursday 10/21.

also, it appears that both Wallace and Hornby have been dropped by their ECHL teams.
