Vintage Jersey- What Year?

I have an old Cornell jersey- red with white shoulder and outer sleeve, black outline to letters and numbers, black "angry bear" leaning on C emblem on the shoulders. Number 7. What year(s) did the Red wear these? Was 7 Lance Nethery's number? Thanks

It's definitely not a Nethery--he wore the 6, and the style's all wrong for the 1970s.
It sounds to me like a mid-to-late-1980's sweater. The key diagnostic to narrow down the year is the style of the lettering on the front (big blocky letters or small narrow letters). A likely candidate would be Chris Grenier?

I'm looking at an undated pic of Nieuwendyk wearing red with white shoulders and outer sleeves and with black outlining letters and numbers. The number 25, not the bear, is on the right shoulder and I think it has the narrower letters Hillel described.

I may be WAY off, but I think the mid-late 1980s chronology goes something like this (and I ain't kidding when I say I may have this completely wrong):
1984-85 and earlier : Broad over-the-shoulder stripe with grumpy bear, but no black outline of numbers or anything else. "CORNELL" in narrow letters on the front, but NO black outline.
1985-86ish: Still a broad over-the-shoulder stripe, but no angry bear, and "CORNELL" is written in huge, fat block letters on the front (so massive that you couldn't read the "C" or the second "L" when worn) outlined in black.
1986-87ish: Angry bear returns, otherwise same as above (massive, bulky lettering of "CORNELL" on front).
1987-88 and after: Lettering for "CORNELL" on front changes to much thinner look, but still with black outline. Can't remember whether bear's still there on the shoulder or not.
A useful but inconclusive source is the 1987-88 press guide, which has undated pictures from all these periods.

A good resource is the south wall of Lynah behind Sections A-E. All the team photos are mounted there. Provided you can get to Lynah easily.

It does have the big blocky letters. Goes well with my big blocky body...

Then I'd be willing to bet that you've got a 1986-87 Chris Grenier sweater. I might be off by a year, but it's almost certainly Grenier. 86-7 would be his soph year. He was a very productive forward from Ontario. Got plenty of points all four years, I believe, and may have ended up as the team's leading scorer (or close to it) as a senior.
Current head coach Mike Schafer was his teammate when Grenier was a freshman and his assistant coach when Grenier was a sophomore. (That must've been an awkward transition for some of the guys.)

Grenier scored one of the huge goals in Cornell history his freshman year: [members.cox.net]

In my experience, you can always get in to Lynah unless it's like 3 in the morning (or, of course, a game where you don't have a ticket).

Yeah, but it's kind of a long walk from Louisiana or California.

It wasn't 85-86 (or earlier) because that year the "angry bear" was only on the home white jerseys with the red shoulder and sleeve. The bear must have been added to the red away jerseys in 86-87 or later.
Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a Cornell jersey with this style? I saw a picture of Schafer's son wearing an 85-86 home jersey with #3 and decided I want one like that (in a larger size of course)
I remember Grenier's ECAC championship winning goal very well.
