Both teams are a net +2 in plus/minus? Is that possible?

That's gotta be missing some lines. I only count 15 skaters on each side. Also, one of Princeton's goals was power play, so each team should be a net 0.

Oh, by the way, Harvard sucks.

EDIT: Ignore this post; I'm retarded, and it makes no sense :-)

Well since the first Princeton goal was on the PP, then there are only two goals in the game during which +/- ratings are applicable, and if 3 Princeton players who were on the ice for the non-PP Princeton goal were on the ice for the Harvard goal and 3 Harvard players who were on the ice for the Harvard goal were on the ice for the non-PP Princeton goal, then wouldn't the +/- ratings for each team = +2 ?

Huh? Dude, you're confusing me. :-P

Doesn't matter who was on the ice. For an even strength goal, one team gets five plusses and five minuses. If each team had one even strength goal, they have to add to zero.

Haha, your post made a lot more sense than mine did

And indeed, each team's +/- added to zero:

I didn't look at it too closely to realize that the LiveStats (which is what I copied) was showing less than all players. Sorry it caused confusion. BTW, the recap is up at USCHO: [www.uscho.com] . One thing it highlights is that Harvard is 1-5 against Princeton in their last six contests. Makes me think of how Dartmouth has vexed Cornell so much in recent years.

[Q]On the power play, Goeckner-Zeller took a diagonal pass at the right of Grumet-Morris, and scored a goal-scorer's goal. [/Q]

WAY too many hyphens in that sentence.

Just noted that the Princeton lineup from last night does not include either of the two Syracuse kids, Sharam or Maglione. Sharam's mother, Gita, is one of the great hockey fans ever. Does anyone know if he was just out of the lineup, or is he off the team. They both played with Jeremy Downs growing up (all three are 82 birth years), so they should be in school.

I am pretty sure that Sharam skated against Cornell in NJ this year.

I listened to a good portion of that game on the radio last night. The Harvard announcers mentioned that Sharam played in the game at Bright, but was not on the ice last night. They did this during a discussion of hyphenated names which occupied most of the first period. Other topics covered included how cold it is at Hobey Baker Arena. All in all, they didn't talk much about the hockey.

From the commentary, I gather that the scoreboard went crazy at the end of the first period, with flashing lights, random numbers and letters, and a buzzer that wouldn't go off. My favorite quote from the game: "That's the most interesting thing that has happened so far in this game." rolleyes
