That's possible. I really couldn't tell what it was, only that it was red and mean-looking, and probably an animal of some sort.

Armadillo perhaps?

Age, how about a low quality photo for the crowd? (While waiting for the high quality photos, of course.)

i would guess a bear, at least that is what it looked like to me from 4 feet away when he skated over to A. big bear, with these big f'in claws...:)

If it's going to be any animal, it should be a bear, but the shape just didn't seem to look like a bear. Of course, I could be wrong--once we get a good picture, I'll let you decide. Until then, I'm going to stick with my "red Sonic the Hedgehog on acid" idea. :-D

Yup. I've got a few pics. I'll put some up tomorrow. I think it's a bear, but I haven't looked closely yet.

Haha...from the first row view, we all think it's a bear. All 3 of our goalies have different helmets, didn't think they had that much choice in the matter.

I thought each individual goalie gets to design their own helmet (or, perhaps they give ideas to an artist who makes the design). A few years ago, one of our goalies (Ian Burt, I think?) had a cool-looking Spider-Man mask, which as a comic book fan, I really really liked.

That was Burt. Apparently he gave it to an uncle who really liked it after he graduated (remember that from some article about him I read from a UK paper, I think -- someone linked to it here).

What's up with Yale's goalies... no design at all? Just plan white. UGGG-LYYY

One of, I was gonna say that I see what you meant :-) ... it's clearly a bear, but it has a tripped-out hedgehog look too... not saying that's a bad thing.

Coolest goalie helmet in a while. Excellent use of the block "C" and touches of white.

FYI, the block "C" is on both sides of the helmet. I, too, thought it was a nice touch.

The ivy around the "C" is an even nicer touch.

Yale's defense is so confused that the goalies decided that a design would incite the D to shoot at their own goal. twitch

I love the ivy because it shows pride. And that is one bitchin' bear.
