RPI deserves more respect after this past weekend. I hope they never get it.

Four Ivies in the top 15. Only a few years ago I would have wagered vital organs that that would never happen.

Dartmouth better enjoy being in the polls while they can. Their next games in order are BC, BU, Maine, UMass, and Mankato. They aren't coming out of that unscathed.

Then again, you might say that for us, too.

Well they have my respect so far. I have had season tickets for quite a few years. I can't remember how many because in a way it is a frustrating thing to even think about. I live in a town (actually a half mile out in Brunswick of Plum Blossom fame) that has a Division One team and that team is the most exasperating team to watch in all of college hockey. They are goony when they feel like it, they have no defense save the goalie and their entire offensive strategy is hit the open guy at the opposite blue line for the home run pass. They had some great talent over the last ten years and all save Joel Laing in goal was coached so poorly that I felt bad for them as players. How would you like to go to a school, spend four years playing Division One and learn NOTHING?!?

In short it is a team that one can love to hate.

Well fans that was then and this is now. The Dartmouth game and the two games vs. St. Cloud were the most enjoyable to watch in Troy that I can remember (save the thrashings that the Big Red have put on the Little Red).

The team lines up defensively in an astounding manner considering the heritage. They stop the opposition in the neutral zone and best of all they seem to play hard for all or most of the game. Marsters in goal does get some of the credit but not as much as you might think.

None of us is sure what the hell has gotten into them. My best guess is Assistant Coach Andrew Will. Maybe the Fridge is on some new medication. But whatever is going on in Troy is actually a thing - albeit in all likelihood a temporary thing - of beauty.

As someone who grew up in Brunswick and has enjoyed eating at the Plum Blossom many times I too am happy to see RPI doing so well. I can only hope that the ECAC continues to do so well...with that said LGR!!!

We've got quite an upcoming schedule:

Mercyhurst
Brown
Harvard
Notre Dame
OSU/Maine
Harvard
Brown

Over .500 is a lot to ask for, especially given our rotten history in Florida. I'll be very happy with 3-3-1, particularly if 2-1-1 comes in the league games.

Honestly, after our performance thus far this year, I expected us to drop out of the top 15 altogether. 3-2-3 against mediocre competition is not fantastic. Especially the 0-2-2 record at home. Hopefully Schafer can turn things around, but I don't like the way the season is starting. That said, I think we have an extremely talented team, and I think the potential is there for this to be an outstanding team, especially in the next few yearrs.

Jumping ship already? You usually wait until after Christmas. ;-)

Which isn't to say that I disagree.
