We're now ranked 12th in the Inside College Hockey poll, available at [www.insidecollegehockey.com]
This is an improvement from our ranking of 14th place last week.

That's the most correlation I think I've ever seen the 2 polls have.

Harvard didn't play any non-exhibition games before starting their ECAC schedule? No wonder they were rusty against Brown (although Brown may not have played any non-exhibition games either).

Harvard still takes their exam break after the holidays in January, so they lose two weekends in January when most other ECAC schools are playing four league games. So, to get in four "extra" ECAC games by January 10, the Harvard-Brown game is scheduled on the weekend other Ivies usually open with non-league games. Harvard's situation is made even more difficult by the league's desire to not have them play Friday and Saturday games before the two Beanpot Mondays in February.
In some ways it may be better to open the season with another team that is also playing its first game, rather than facing a North Dakota or St. Cloud that already has six games under its belt.

The INCH "Poll" is just what their staff thinks, which makes it even less credible that the "real" polls.
