If it’s voted on by coaches, Pecknold.

I doubt it, on one of the pregame shows Pecknold was over the moon about both Robertson and Castagna.

I can't remember too many times when the All-ECAC and All-Rookie teams contained nobody from Harvard or Clarkson.

This, this, this. Usually a Crimson-fest, because they're all undeniable blue chippahs.

And, on a more detailed note, how does Union keep picking up these solitary fantastic blueliners? Prokop is nuts and reminds me so much of Gostisbehere.

I’m not going to do the work here, but CU had an individual in the finalist (top 3) list for every ECAC award except Rookie of the Year. The only win was Ian Shane for the League Dryden Award.

Old friend Ben Tupker won the Sportsmanship award at Union, and Sullivan Mack was also in the final 3 up for that award.

Distinction without a difference. 46% vs 50%.

Cornell's Ian Shane is second-team All-America, behind BC freshman Jacob Fowler. But okay, it was the West second-team AA Kyle McClellan who won the Richter Award. Couple of AAs from lesser (in terms of post-season prowess) schools: RIT, Holy Cross. Quinnipiac's Colin Graf second team AA, was first team last year. The only Ivy player is Shane, the only ECAC players are Graf and Union D John Prokop. Only one international All-America (ie not Canada, USA) is Artyom Levshunov Michigan State freshman from Belarus.

Mike Richter wouldn’t have won the Mike Richter award.

The highest accolade he achieved in college was 2nd team WCHA and he bailed for the pros after two decent but non-spectacular years. Yes, he had a HOF pro career, and that’s super. But why does everyone just accept that the best collegiate performance bears that name?

I know, I know. I’ve been on this soapbox before. But can’t we have some grumbling that it seems weird? Obviously, Dryden is a better honoree. Or Hrudy or Turco, or Miller, or even Bruce Bullock. Jesus, Richter shouldn’t represent the college pinnacle.

It bugs me.

1) You sound like a cranky old man. Do you yell, "Hey, you kids get off my lawn"? But ...
2) Yeah, you're right.
3) His bio notes Richter played 666 games in the NHL so it could have been the Mark of the Best Award. He won second place in the Vezina Trophy in his second year. He only played two years at Wisconsin, 33-25-1. Let's see, Ken Dryden went 76-4-1 at Cornell. He embodies the ethic of the college athlete: good jock, good student. And he didn't try to walk over Al Michaels in the announcer booth when the clock counted down and Michaels wound up to say, "Do you believe in miracles?"

1) It should be very clear by now that I absolutely do, bill. :-)

It is interesting, when you listen to the famous line, you can hear Ken exhale “unbeLIEVEable” at the end.

Thanks for the acknowledgment, and well done with the “Mark of the Beast” joke.

Since Ceglarski and 1973 (actually since 1949), BC had a long title drought until 2001, 2008, 2010 and 2012. And Greg Brown is only BC's fifth head coach in just under a century, mostly because Snooks Kelley was HC 1933-1972, then Ceglarski for two decades, then Jerry York for 18.
