He's either a genius or mad at someone but Schafer double shifted the fourth line after the Yale goal and they rewarded him with a tie game

Yale obviously trying to pressure as much as they can on the forecheck. They were caught on the tying goal, but this is clearly not the same opponent as yesterday

We had a lot of trouble with them earlier this year too.

One of my more inane opinions is that the end of the game should extend by the length of the ongoing power play if it's tied or if the team up a man is down one.

I think the power play team should get an extra shot in the shootout.

That’s not inane. It’s only fair. A penalty committed with 10 seconds remaining is basically not penalized at all. A penalty committed with one minute remaining is only half as costly as one committed with two or morning minutes remaining. I agree with you.

Unfortunately the Big Red dropped from 11 to 15 in the Pairwise with the tie.

Colorado College is losing to North Dakota, That will help. And Penn State is ahead of Michigan, so that's good.

But UNH destroyed Maine this weekend. The Wildcats have a tough schedule left, with two against UMass and two against BC, but they figured out how to put away a top ten team by putting out two big efforts, so they will definitely be in the hunt for that last NCAA bid.

That seems to be all anyone cares about. We haven’t lost a game since December 2. What other team can say that? Can we just enjoy the ride and not worry so much about all that other crap, seeing as we are fans and have zero control over anything?

Cornell has been great this year and I’m proud of them. Mostly just frustrating to not see that get rewarded in the Pairwise.

Part of the focus on Pairwise is because we're in the bubble range. If we were well above or below it, the change in ranking wouldn't mean as much. Part of it is expectations. My freshman year, my immediate fan circle didn't have super high expectations, and we definitely enjoyed the season game by game more. But back then, Pairwise didn't exist either, so it was easier to live in the moment. We were just thrilled make it to the Gahden.

It's fine. We didn't drop that far in RPI. We're just in a tight pack of teams. If we keep playing well, we will have a good shot.

We didn’t drop far, but things are so tight that marginal changes aren’t so marginal anymore.

Cornell held Yale to 12 shots in regulation. After holding Brown to 10 last night.

There's more fluctuation than people seem to realize. Every bit counts, but I didn't expect us to run the table outright, and boy is it good we didn't lose at home.

We dropped from 10 to 15 in the pairwise, and we’re not playing our best considering we just tied Yale.

We’re in an odd spot where every game is so nerve wracking. It would almost be freeing to be out of the bubble and know that we just need to win the ECAC to make it. I do think we have a good chance in placid, but I’m hoping it doesn’t come down to that.

Among the most frustrating posts are ones that seem annoyed when someone else notices that something bad happened. Not, like, pointing out that we fell 5 spots but it's a consequence of a tight race but more like "just enjoy the good season." I am enjoying the season! It still stings when there are setbacks, even if setbacks are inevitable.

Yale played that entire third period like they were sitting on a lead. Cornell kept coming and I expected them to wear them down and push one across up until the Castagna penalty. I was hoping he’d get a chance in OT to win it and repay the boys for killing the penalty. There’s not much left to say about it but let’s hope that the season doesn’t come down to needing them to convert on a power play. I thought it was appropriate that Catalano got one of the shootout attempts. His line was solid all evening. That was some move he made. That Yale goalie needed every bit of extension to stop him. Stanley did a really nice job picking his spots to jump into the play this weekend. So much talent up and down the lineup. Can’t wait to find out where the peak is for this freshman class.

LONGEST UNBEATEN STREAKS TO OPEN CALENDAR YEAR
Program History
• 21 games — 21-0-0 — 1970
• 18 games — 18-0-0 — 1969
• 16 games — 16-0-0 — 1968
• 12 games — 10-0-2 — 2024

It's not good enough! Still 9 away from the record! Jk

yup.. Scoring 5 every night like BC is doing covers up many more mistakes by the D and the goalies.

when you score 2-3, more mistakes matter. had we scored 3-4 like most of this last run its another ho hum 4-1 win.
