Just read this article on the new Apple G5 desktop machines, and a Mark Anbinder comments on the advantages of 64 bit processing over 32 bit for scientific processing (under the heading "Scientific Community Takes Note".
Just wondering if it is our very own Lynah Faithful in the news.

If you know of any other Mac afficionados named Mark Anbinder, I want to hear about 'em! Otherwise... yeah, that's me. The author called me this morning for a comment.
I've also been quoted several times by the New York Post on Macintosh and related topics, and in addition to 13 years of stuff in TidBITS, I've had several pieces published in Macworld. (I don't count the defunct MacWEEK any more.)

So...looks like Apple should be grateful to IBM that, "for the first time in years, Mac buyers can stand tall."
We've come a long way from the eighties.
