Is there a source which reveals the numbers of hockey players from specific D-1 college programs who go on to play professional hockey?

Pro tip: Make a blunt assertion such as "There is no site with good info on college students going pro." You will get the information within nanoseconds of you clicking Post Message, faster than you can say Post Malone.

Better pro tip: oso should have typed his exact question into Google instead.

The first result is literally titled "Hockey Factories: Which NCAA program has produced the most NHL talent in the post-lockout era?"

In oso defense, it still doesnt answer his question. The link you gave shows games played. He asked for number of players, not games played. Some of you are insufferable. Stop being so condescending ffs.

I suggest these resources:

Elite Prospects

College Hockey Inc

Hockeydb

They each have front ends to excellent databases. It's entirely possible there are APIs to the data itself. They are commercial sites but perhaps they will share if you ask them nicely, or at least run an ad hoc query to count number of alumni by school.

None of those have an API to the data.

And since you didn't mention either of the two places I work for ...

[www.hockey-reference.com] ... and [www.collegehockeynews.com] ... also each have lots of data, but both could only tell you NHL only. Not all "pros." Elite Prospects and HockeyDB might be able to tell you something - but you'd have to do a boatload of digging.
