Here's a 15-minute interview with Schafer, looking back at last weekend's games and looking ahead to this weekend, as well as some discussion of injuries, etc. Nothing too earth-shattering, but worth a listen.

That accent is every general contractor I've ever met.
Mike wants to fuck the Ivy season limit hard enough to wake Joe Bertagna.

honestly there is no reason that hockey has to play a limited schedule and football doesnt let those kids play for titles when all the other sports get too.

The reason is keeping up the pretense of Ivy exceptionalism. That is a tremendously lucrative gimmick. It's spectacularly hypocritical but it's our business model. Woodrow from White Plains gives because we keep fluffing his self image and we found a place for his brain dead nephew in the Hotel school.upprdeck

If hockey plays 34 games the Provost will have a sad.

Here's CBR's take on the weekend.
Not about us or the game, but a nice article about a Brown alum making it to NHL.

Finally something from Brown, Men’s Hockey Heads to No. 4 Cornell, Colgate and Yale. Elis take on Colgate, No. 4 Cornell

There are many universities that look upon college athletes as a revenue source and not much more. This revenue hopefully improves education and lowers tuition at these schools. The Ivies occasionally take a different path - or more often a path down the middle. Academic endowments make up some of the difference.

Indeed.
Though the Blue and White had home-ice advantage, there were terrific performances from a plethora of players that awarded Yale this pair of victories.
Oh gee-whilikers! I do hope that our ice-men can overwhelm those Cornell rapscallions!
In the end, Yale must surely be awarded the championship!

Nothing like having an image of the Brown mascot at the center of our rink's ice.

This is my favorite sentence--it's in the "reaching for something to write" category:
Yale Daily News
Facing both Colgate and Cornell over the same weekend is nothing new for the Elis.
This could be a big advantage for Yale--no other team in the ECAC has this experience.

Definitely the one that got my attention in a you-don't-say way. For me, another highlight was this:
Yale Daily News
Clinging to a 1–1 tie in the second, a behind-the-net apple perfectly found its way into the slot with a Friar one-timing the biscuit to the top shelf to hand the Raiders a 2–1 disadvantage heading into the third.
"AHAHA!! I just worked 'apple' and 'biscuit' into one play! Sports Language! Let the ESPN recruiting calls BEGIN!!"
