whoops, apparently you're only allowed to vote once in the entire phase. so if you haven't yet, make sure you do...

How is it, do you suppose, that Colorado College - with 1,900 undergraduates - has over 2,200 total votes for its two candidates, in a phase where each is allowed to vote only once? Certainly they have alumni (and maybe a few non-affiliated fans?), but this is ridiculous.
C'mon, Cornell people, pull your weight! Put an ad in the Daily Sun! E-mail a few friends!

P.S. It occurred to me immediately before posting this that with two candidates, it's easier to have more votes. All they need do is vote for one candidate as 1st and the other as 2nd. When you vote for Lenny, for goodness's sake, don't give your other two votes to Sejna or Preissing!!
P.P.S. This doubling-up on voting is, by the way, an extremely obvious bias to the current fan-voting system. Any school with two finalists will have a natural advantage for both, instead of a possibility of the vote getting split. There's got to be a better way to do it...

They will be checking their voting logs for IP address as well. If you have more than one e-mail address and choose to vote that way, do it from different computers, if possible in very different locations.
(I suspect only truly gross violations will catch their eye - dozens of votes from dozens of different e-mail addresses but from the same IP address - but it's still better to be safe if you're going to try this sort of tactic (a tactic which I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, recommending)).

regarding your other 2 votes - i agree with beeeej. For completely selfish reasons I gave mine to the 2 guys at the bottom of the list ...Higgins and the guy from Niagara. yeah - probably the wrong way to go about things - i know - but the best way to help Lenny climb.

Well. voting for Higgins to support the league and Tallari (sp?) to stiff the other three major conferences is probably the best loyalist vote anyway.

I think it's hilarious that "the guy from Niagara" (and that's probably how most people think of him) is currently slightly ahead of Ben Eaves.

I'm not sure how, but Higgins has managed to go from the bottom of the pack to within 300 pts of Lenny in just this afternoon. Maybe giving him 3rd place votes instead of second will help Lenny build up more of a cushion.
Tell your friends to vote, Lenny has some ground to make up.

Apparently a lot of people are using Tallari and Higgins in the same way. Right now, Tallari has just 81 first place votes, but the total of second and third place votes is more than 800 -- far more than anybody else, except for Higgins.
As for whether the system is even remotely honest, Lenny's total vote count of about 710 is lower than everybody else's except for Liles. Lenny and Kunitz are the only candidates whose first place votes are actually a majority of total votes -- in Kunitz' case, a huge majority. That strongly suggests that massive numbers of WCHA voters are deliberately stiffing Lenny and Kunitz, following the same strategy that some ECAC people here are using to stiff Senja.
It would be funnier than hell if Tallari wound up with an ungodly number of "strategic" second place votes and finished first in the fan voting.
