2-0 end 2nd. Killed off a minute of 5x3 and a couple of PPs. Fortino came back out and was taking shifts, so she's probably okay. The intensity seems to have dropped off a bit since the sledging at the end of the first.

4-1 win over Q after going a goal down in the first period moves us top of the league, tied on points with Q after beating them twice and with four games in hand over them.

1-0 over Princeton after two periods, Johnston with the only goal on a 1st period breakaway. Somehow we failed to score in the second, despite putting up 19 shots to Princeton's 5 and spending about four solid minutes with the puck in their zone. Overall shots 28-9.

Losses and ties by Minnesota and da Badgers are letting us back in this. If we win out (very tough, but possible) and they drop a few games each, we might be the top seed. Maybe.

Four more games against the current TUC list (Harvard, Dartmouth, Clarkson twice) will be important. Three are on the road. Record against TUCs now is 2-2. Wisco is 8-2-2; Lady Goofs 9-4-1. Would be nice if Q could sneak onto the TUC list.

Mercyhurst is also a TUC, and we face them at Lynah on February 7.

Tough game against SU tonight. 3-2 CU after 2. SU is winning face offs and shots almost even. SU was up 2-1 in second, but we got 2 late goals and now a PP with 4 seconds left in second.

Not our best effort

They won 6-3. Took over late in second period. Third period, except for the one SU PP goal, was ours. Good game. More challenging than I thought it would be.

Women go to overtime to beat Dartmouth 1-0. Not our best effort of the year but a W is a W....

Notes:

-We're up to #2 in the USCHO poll (two first-place votes) and the Pairwise after Minnesota won in a shootout against lowly Bemidji State on Saturday.

-Harvard and Dartmouth are 9th and 10th in the poll after losing to us this weekend.

-Mazz's win on Saturday made her the winningest goaltender in Cornell history, with 48 victories.

Victoria Pittens of the Whitby Junior Wolves/Team Ontario Red can be added to Cornell's recruiting list for next year. She was one of the top scorers for the top ontario team for the canadian u-18 championship. Looks to be a solid addition.

FYI... Redcast audio tonight of the Women at St Lawrence.

Just tuned in, so I don't have a score, but Cornell just killed off a penalty.

Ah, 1-0 Cornell, about 7 min left in the 1st.

Honey Badger had the first goal, Johnston scored the second. Mazz just got pulled with a few minutes left in the first...another injury, I guess.

Good win against a very solid St. Lawrence squad. We looked very strong defensively and offensively for the first period and a half, but seemed to lose steam somewhere in the middle of the second period.

Sad weekend for Cornell Hockey overall. At the very least, a sad Saturday where our men and women lost by the same exact score. :(

A very odd weekend. I don't think Slobes has ever given up four goals, certainly not in back-to-back games.

Lauren didn't look her usual self on the ice, especially on Saturday. Since Mazz got the start Friday and then left the game injured, there is always the possibility that Lauren was sick, recovering from some injury, etc.

I wonder why Pippy didn't get a shot in either game. Well, it's only one loss and we'll probably drop down to #3, but no further.
