Swedish national anthem for Murray

I had a lot of trouble with the webcam in the first period. So, those of you who were lucky enough to be at the game, please tell us if the Pep Band did play the Swedish national anthem, even though Doug Murray did not play tonight. I'm also interested in your impression of the recognition ceremony after the game. Is this new? I don't remember anything like this when I used to attend games at Lynah. Personally, I thought tonight's ceremony was a nice way to thank our seniors and their loved ones. Wish I were there...

They played it during the ceremony after the game, as Murray was doing his lap around the rink

The band played the Swedish National Anthem as Doug skated out to center ice following his lap around the rink (accompanied, I believe, by his brother wearing a Swedish Flag cape and looking incredibly happy).

The band and fans played and then sang a full rendition of "Hey Bâby" (how do you get the proper punctuation to show up here?) when Steven led his parents to center ice. The McRaes shared the family members, with each leading them out to center ice (thus, the McRae family got the most "ice time" during the event). The fans gave an appropriate cheer for each of the seniors in turn. It was quite a wonderful time. Mr. Paolini had his own cheering section as well.

The players for their parts also seemed to have a great time on their laps around the rink, each stopping to give Mike Teeter a special hug at the door to the rink, and continuing with one or another form of salute to the fans (Mark's wonderful bow and salute to Section A was special). Steven, of course, touched hands all the way around the rink - without having to stretch!

It was, as always, very emotional, and made even more special by the very exciting game. The team worked hard tonight, and that made it all the better.

It was a hot game, hot crowd, and hot team. Lots of fun.

Ah, I did hear that over the Internet when the web cam stayed on for the entire senior ceremony, which I found very moving and meaningful. My wife commented that it felt as if we were at Lynah...

Thank you, Schafer. May the post-season last and last...

Wait. I am confused. Online radio feed or Web-cam? Not trying to be picky ... I just thought that the web-cam was long gone (and had no chance of ever coming back)...

edit: NEVERMIND .... just read about it when I was finishing catching up on the week-end board activity.
