A delerious, awe-struck congratulations to David LeNeveu on nailing his sixth shutout of the season tonight against RPI - tying a Cornell single-season record set over thirty years ago by the great Ken Dryden.

David also now has eight career shutouts. Dryden's career record is thirteen. No pressure, Lenny. ;-)

Lenny rules!!!
I was considering, if I buy a replica Cornell jersey, I would have my good friend David Burke's number and name plate put on the back, but now I may want Lenny's instead...Hmm, maybe I should get two shirts (home & away). Rebecca will probably kill me for spending my $$ this way B-]

If anyone on here knows (since the chat wasn't positive) - are we talking regular season record? or does he have the playoffs to add to it too?

All colege records include the RS, as far as I know. (Arthur?) Dryden's six shutouts came in '68 and were all in the RS. His 13 career included two in the postseason - one in the ECACs (SLU) and one in the NC$$'s (NoDak in '67).

My impression is that we are talking about regular season, not including playoffs. I have my media guide at home, so can't be 100% sure, but in all the weeks leading up to this, I am fairly certain that it is a single, regular season record.

All of these record include playoff games. He does have the playoffs to add. Oddly enough, all of Lenny's career shut outs are ECAC RS, which means he is 3 shy of another Dryden record (but 5 shy of the big one).

The NCAA D-1 record for shut outs in a season is 10 (Miller at MSU).
