Cornell has a couple of connections to the World Championship tournament that starts Friday in Germany.

Hockey is not meant to be played in a football or futbol stadium.

Czech Republic beats Russia 2-1 for their 12th World Championship. Russia had had a 27-game winning streak in tournament play.
